Question about add-ons

First, I want to thank all of you for this very imformative site!! I have been checking this site everyday and anywhere else I could think of to answer this question? I currently have 170 points at the Wildreness Lodge and I am thinking of adding on.

My question is if I buy points at another resort will my home always be the Willderness Lodge or do you now have two home resorts. I am a very big planner and I like the fact that I can book 11 months in advance at Fort Wilderness. Also if by chance I do buy at another resort and get the same use year do you then get to combine those points with the points you allready own every year to make one reservation.

I am planning a family vacation in 2004 and it is very expensive at the Wilderness Lodge so I was thinking maybe I should buy points at another resort. These extra points are not just for that vacation but I would love to just add-on or buy resale at another resort. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

Lisa, yes, you will have 2 home resorts. But here is the part you want to make sure you understand. You will only be able to book the 11 month booking window for the amount of points you have at either resort. So lets say you have 200 points at Wilderness Lodge and buy 200 more at Beach Club Villas. Both will be your home resort, but you can only make reservations at the 11 month window at Wildernes Lodge for your 200 points at Wilderness lodge. (Or you could have a total of 600 points every 3 years with banking and borrowing.) If there is availiability at the 7 month window you could then use your points from your "other" home resort.

The points needed at WL, BCV and Preferred View at BWV are all the same. Standard view at BWV and OKW are slightly less.

and at 11 months at BCV for the 200 points you own there.
