Question about 8am RD at MK (not EMH)

We will be heading straight back to Fairytale Hall at the 8am RD at MK. Does anyone know if the path straight the castle is open? Or do we have to go around tomorrowland to get there?

In my experience the castle will be open depending on when you go. For our August trip the castle was open every morning and didnt close until the first stage show was about to get underway. However, for our December trip the castle wasn't open at all because they were recording things on the stage every morning.
