Question about 3rd generation Ipod touch

This might seem like a dumb question but can u get wifi anywhere(like the Iphone) with the ipod touch, that is the impression that i get when i look on the apple web site.

you can use it anywhere that there is wifi but you can't use if anywhere. An iphone gets connectivity from a cell phone carrier contract. Your itouch does not have a monthly charge. It uses wireless in the same way that a laptop would. So if there is free wifi (at say starbucks) you can use it. If there is wireless at a hotel and it is free you can use it or if it is not free you could pay for it like you do with your laptop and connect your itouch. Hope this makes sense.
