Hi,
I'm thinkin the 2br dedicated has 2beds....not a studio....

I want the 2br WITH the studio......so my parents can
really have their own space....

Is this a request or a guarantee.....

I would rather get a 1br and a studio....if I cant guarantee
the 2nd br is a studio....
Thanks
Kerri

AFAIK, when you make your reservation you can request a lock-off as opposed to a dedicated. I asked a similar question here the other day and was told that the room type was a guarantee - we have a dedicated 2-bed reserved for April 08 and was told this IS guaranteed.

As the dedicated 2-beds are more popular (from what I have read) than the lock-offs, I wouldn't have thought you would have a problem with requesting the type you want.

I believe other than at BWV(where all the 2br are lockoffs) that "dedicated" and lockoffs are booking categories. We usually get the dedicated type and it is on your reservation.

Which resort are you staying at? If you are at OKW, all the 2nd bedrooms will have beds instead of a bed and sofa. At all other DVC resorts, requesting lock off will insure that you have a sofa in the second bedroom.

Thanks for all the replies....

Not sure where we are going yet.....

Diane....the 2nd br at OKW....is it a studio....does it have
a microwave and coffee pot.....
thanks

At OKW, only a lockoff would have the microwave & coffee pot in the second bedroom. A dedicated would have an extra bathroom sink and extra closet.

Not all dedicateds at all DVC's have 2 beds in the second bedroom. At BCV, only some of the dedicateds have 2 beds, others have 1 queen & 1 sofabed.

If you want to 100% sure of getting a 2 bedroom that is a lock off (1 bedroom connecting to a studio with 1 queen bed and a sofa sleeper & kitchenette), then book at the BWV. It is the only kind of 2 bedroom unit that they have at the BWV.

Thanks....so if i understand this correctly....

Dedicated and lockoffs.....are not guaranteed....like say...
booking a 1br...or a studio....

So it is possible to get a dedicated 2br somewhere when you
"requested a lockoff".....

Is the lockoff request just like all the rest.....Maybe granted:confused3

I'm pretty sure dedicated 2brs. are guaranteed and mine is even listed on my confirmation. Having said that, I would guess that lock-offs are also guaranteed.

If you have requested a lock-off you should not get a dedicated if they book you properly. At least that's how I understand it to be.

I would call MS and tell them you really want a lock off 2br and the dates you want it for. Tell them why you want a lock off even (for the sofa and the coffee and the added privacy for your parents.) Since you aren't sure where to stay yet, this should be pretty easy for you to get what you want. On your confirmation it would then say lock off instead of dedicated like mine.

At BCV all reports are that 2BR dedicated with 2 Q beds are a seperate category....only 25 villas like that and they're in high demand apparently.

The rest of the 2 BRs at BCV are either dedicated or lockoffs with a queen and a sleeper.

From what I was told one time when I was trying to book a 2BR accessible unit at BCV, lockoffs and dedicated are seperate categories....i.e. even though there were still dedicated rooms available when I was trying to book, I couldn't get one as the accessible rooms are all lockoffs. Therefore at BCV you should be able to book a 2BR lockoff.

This info only pertains to BCV.

Thanks everyone...

I'm glad that I should have no problem....
this trip won't happen for at least 1 yr...
so I have plenty of planning time....
