I am thinking about a trip for late next year and I thought that I had heard somewhere that they are changing the policy about your rates being figured by the date you check in even if rates go up or down while you are there. So my question is, if you check in on New years eve 2008, and the rates are holiday price, then they drop off after that, will I get charged holiday for all 6 nights or will it be like other hotels that charge different rates each night?

Yes, you are correct. It depends on the season. The previous poster listed January dates which are in value season and there is not an extra charge during value season (except some holidays). The values and moderates are $10 per night more during weekends during regular and summer seasons. During holiday seasons, the weekend rates are even higher. If you check-in on NYE '08, you will be charged the holiday rate until the value season begins, then the rate will drop.

Here's a link to a page on the disboards which details the 2008 rates: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/disney-rates-2008.htm

Here's a link to mousesavers which has 2008 rates for the deluxe resorts, the disboards page does not have the rates for the deluxes listed: http://www.mousesavers.com/roomrates2008.html

Thanks, the mouse savers chart was really easy to understand. Good to know that if we check in on NYE we won't be charged holiday rates the whole time.

I guess that is the flip side of all the times people checked in the last day of value season and then got value rates for all of peak or holiday.
