We are going with our friends to Disney in Oct. Both our sons will be 2 years 4 months. My little guy is a tiny one but her son is VERY tall and is often mistaken for being older than his age. She was wondering about getting him into the park without a ticket. Will she need a birth certificate with her? I have never brought one for my children but like I said they look their age. Should we bother? Has anyone had to prove their babies' ages? I know this is a HOT topic but I asure you they WILL BE 2 years 4 months.

Generally they don't question you... If you say they are 2 then they are... sometimes they will ask for a birthday, which if you are telling the truth is easy to come up with,... if you are stretching the truth it tends to come out stumbled :) They have their ways of verifying, they don't expect you to carry the birth certificate with you.

We have never had a problem with our dd. We even had her at the park on August 14, 2003--the day before she turned THREE and she was still free.

They never even questioned us.

If you would feel better, bring the toddler's birthcertificate with you just in case--I know when my second dd was born I had the option of purchasing wallet size birthcertifcate to carry w/ me. I don't know if that was a post-911 thing or not. .

Thanks so much! She said she intended to carry the birth certificate with her even though I told her I didn't think she needed to. I just wanted to be sure she wouldn't have a problem if she forgot. It is easy to forget stuff like that while wrestling 3 kids out the door!

Just another re-confirmation....our last few days of our annual pass just happened to fall a few days shy of our daughter's (you'll be pleased to know her name is SAMANTHA!) 3rd birthday....being a little tall for her age, we were wondering about how they reinforce the "under 3" policy too.

The verdict? 3 different parks visited...no problem in any of them, no documentation required, no questions asked, no nothing!

I'm sure all will be fine for you!

Yep all the above posters are correct. My son is extremely tall for his age and we were never asked to prove his age. When he turned 3 we started paying and before that it was never even questioned.

I just had to smile at this because even though I never went to Disney so it wasn't a problem but my 2nd child was tall for his age AND tended to say he was older than he was.....took him for a preschool screening and one of the questions they ask the kids is "How old are you?" He seriously said "Six" (His sister was turning 6 that month!)....even all *through* preschool, he kept saying an older age than he was (he's now 7 and doesn't do that anymore!). The sad part is that *I* stumble on their years because I keep getting him and his sister confused (that's what happens after 4 kids...your brain cells go!). LOL!!!!

I know I would be worried if I had an almost 3 year old but that's because my 10 year old and 7 year old right now are almost the same height (the 10 year old is short for her age & the 7 year old is tall for his age - so it has made for some interesting things over the years with people assuming he was older!)

I have a 1 year old who will be 1 when we are going, so I'm not worried about it but I can understand why other parents would be will tall for their age children but from what I've read everything should be fine.
