Question about 2-br villas

I noticed in the DVC booklet that I have that the room layouts seem to indicate that at some resorts the second br in the 2-br villas can have either 2 queen beds or a queen bed and a pull-out couch. When making a ressie for a 2-br villa can you request one or the other or does the resort make those decisions based on occupancy, etc? If we stay in a 2-br villa for our next trip we will have 4 kids sleeping in the second br and I'd like to get the two-bed setup rather than the bed/couch. Thanks for any info on this!!

You can request the dedicated 2BR with the two beds but remember that some resorts don't have it. For example the BWV doesn't have that set up at all and the BCV has some rooms with two beds. Which resort are you staying at?

As noted, all of BWV 2 BR are lockoffs and have a queen and pull out full. For SSR and VWL, all lockoff's are the same as BWV and all dedicated 2 BR have 2 queen beds. BCV is the outlier with the lockoff's also the same as BWV but the dedicated have 2 queens in about a third and a queen and pull out queen in the other 2/3. OKW has 2 queens in all the second BR.

You're going to need the 11 month booking window to get one of the dedicated 2 bedroom units at BC. So, if you're not a member at BCV, you're going to need to find someone to trade points with you. When they built BCV, they made a mistake with the bedding in the 2 bedroom dedicated units, and only 25 of them were approved to have the 2nd queen placed in the unit. The other 50 or so 2 bedroom dedicated have a queen sofa bed, rather than the double sofa bed in the lock-off units.

Wow! Where have I been?

I always thought that all dedicated 2BR at BCV had two beds in the second bedroom.

We requested and got the 2 beds in the second BR at BCV when we went in March, but it is our home and we did book 11 months out. We are going to OKW in 3 weeks. I guess I don't want BWV points then, we have 4 kids and prefer the 2 real beds in the other room.

We stayed in a 2BR at BC with 2 beds and booked at the 7 month window. It was not a request, we just got it. Our room was at the very end looking toward the main entrance.
