Query re: Points at Other WDW Resorts

We have used points for 3 nights at AKL, now we may want to change the dates we have used these for.

My query is that I read that if we use points to stay at a WDW Resort Hotel rather than a DVC hotel these are turned into Reservation Points. Now we still want to stay at AKL but maybe want different dates now.

Can we do this or are we now locked into those dates?

You are not locked into the dates. As long as there is availability at the AKL for what you want, you can cancel the original reservation and reuse the reservation points at AKL (or any of the other options in the Disney Collection, the Adventurers Collection or the Conceirge Collection ) for different dates.

The only things you cannot use those points for are a reservation at one of the DVC resorts or an exchange.
