Has anyone ever bought a mattress here? I was looking at a pillowtop 805 coil count yesterday, It's $399. I'm looking for one for DS's bed he's 6ft, so I want something that's going to last a couple of years anyways!
We got a new Sterns & Foster $$$$ for his bed at home and it really hasn't held up as well as we thought it would. I don't think they make them like they used to.
I just thought someone may have one from BJ's, I did a research on reviews for it but came up with nothing :confused3

don't know but i'm curious. I'm thinking of picking up mattresses here for our three college kids. The price is good. They're young and not likely to be as picky as I am. Plus I don't think i'll need them for more then a couple years now.

Our DS is college age too, he's not staying in the dorm this year, he got an apartment, unfurnished. This summer has been fun ordering all new "Stuff"!
All we have left to get is the mattress. He and DH wanted to go out looking last weekend, but I told them to hold off until I did some research on mattresses because they would come home with the best, most pricey mattress imaginable. Salespeople can talk DH into anything LOL

I bought two matteresses at bj's for my kids. They were twin not queen but I am perfectly happy with them. My younger son is 18 and he is a BIG kid. He has had his mattress for about 5 years and it is fine. It has held up well. I was so happy I bought one for my older son's room ...he does not live here anymore. It has only been used a few times but I have slept in it when I was sick and it is comfortable for me.

Thanks for the Review! They look really comfortable. Were the ones you bought the pillowtop kind?

Thanks for the heads up on the coupon, I just got that circular in the mail. The coupon is from 8/5 - 11. I guess I'll wait until the 5th to purchase.
Thanks for the review! It's so hard to find a comfy mattress, there are so many to choose from.

I saw this matress too. I laid on it. It felt good. I know we need a new matress after staying at BC/YC the beds were wonderful! Pillow tops. My back did not hurt after sleeping. I'm thinking of this $399.00

The coupon in their coupon book is for $50 off, so be sure to pick one up on your way in!

NOPE not the pillow top I got the bottom of the line.

I haven't bought one, but I've seen them. THere was a whole family picking up mattresses a couple of months ago, and they told me that they found the mattresses really comfortable (from having tested them in the store before buying them).

BJs has a really good return policy, so I'm sure you could take it home and test it for a couple of nights to make sure.. then if it stinks you could bring it back?

Find out before you buy one what the return policy is in your state. State law mandates whether you can return a mattress or not.

We bought a king size set a year ago from them. The brand name was Bassett. If that's still the brand they carry, then I have nothing but RAVES about it. We love ours! We had a Serta mattress prior that was making us miserable within 6 months of purchase. We were constantly flipping the mattress, trying to deal with it, but nothing helped. Hubby is a 6'2" big guy (over 300 lbs), and with our new BJ's mattress, it's still as firm and comfortable as the day we brought it home. At the time we bought, they only had pillowtop available, and I was hesitant because I've always just liked the plain tops. But, I really love this one.

I agree. We bought DD a full (double) size mattress from BJ's about two years ago, and it is very comfortable. The brand is Bassett. It's so comfy that I sleep on it when the DD is spending the night with grandparents. DH and I are looking for a new queen set right now, BJ's will probably get our money again!

I bought that queen set about 6 months ago with the coupon ($349!!). It is awesome!! I am quite pooh sized and was a little worried that my weight would "crush" the pillow top, but so far so good. And that bed has almost constant use because my husband works nights, so when one of us gets out, one gets in!! I would definitely recommend it!!

Thanks for the reviews everyone. I'm going to go with it, I'm just going to wait for the coupon date 8/5 and hopefully they will have some left at our BJ's here on the Cape.
Nothing could be worse than our Sterns & Foster, they started sinking after about a year and we turn them constantly. :confused3

So, 11 years later, I am considering a purchase of a Berkeley & Jensen mattress, and I came across your query. After 11 years, how did the mattress hold up for you?

My coworker has bought BJ's and Costco mattresses for his vacation home. He says they are "fine" but wouldn't want one for his own, everyday use.

Nope, I would not buy a Sealy, Stearns, etc...
They are not what they are 'all cracked up to be'.
Used to have a Sealy Posturepedic that was really great and held up for years...
Finally replaced it... New one was a piece of junk......
So called 'titianium' springs... :sad2:

I don't know if I would be willing to spend so much on a bed for my kid?
But, for a good coil-spring mattress, we now have a BeautyRest Black, and it is holding up really great!
Have been happy with it, for a couple years now.

Sometimes you do get what you pay for!!!
