I know that all liquids need to be 3 oz and in the zippered baggie. Does this include deodorant, makeup, chapstick and the like? What about meds in pill form? Thanks in advance....
ps- does anyone else think that the CEO of Ziplock had anything to do with this requirement?;)

Only liquids need to be in the baggie. On the list you posted only liquid makeup (foundation, gel blush etc) would need to be in the makeup. Stick deoderant, chapstick etc are not considered liquid.

(And yes, I am convinced that someone at the TSA is getting a kickback. That's why they picked QUART size. It's probably the slowest selling size LOL!)

I disagree. Obviously you haven't seen the stacks and stacks of boxes dust-covered snack-size zipper bags in the supermarket lately.... :umbrella:

Oh man, we buy ZILLIONS of those snack size bags. They're the best!!

I don't know why, but I too just assumed anything not solid would go in the quart bag. Does this mean that the sticks like the Bullfrog stick sunscreen or Bodyglide don't need to go in the bag either?

Liquids and gels. The ONLY new restrictions (since August or so) are on liquids and gels.

Exactly what are the dimensions of a quart sized bag. I am from Canada and all our measurements are in metric. Is the quart size larger than a sandwich bag and smaller than the large freezer bag? ( I don't mean those huge oversized bags now available) Anyone? I would appreciate the help.

'quart' size bags aren't marked in inches either in the rest of the world, so the inch measurement won't really help in this case.

I use 954 ml bags, which are close to one litre.

CATSA lists dimensions as
The approximate dimensions of a one litre/quart bag are 15.24 cm by 22.86 cm (6 in. by 9 in.) or 20 cm by 17.5 cm (8 in. by 7 in.).

1 quart = 1.136 litres

fold over sandwich bags are not allowed. They must be zip locked.

Thanks for the info. In Ziplock speak in Canada that is the Medium Freezer bags. I just hated the thought of getting to the airport in the states and having to go out and buy the right sized bags.
