Has anyone recently stayed at Quality Suites Maingate East? I currently have reservations on-site at Disney for this fall, but due to some unexpected bills, I need to switch to off-site. My reservations are through AAA, and so that I won't have to do ALOT of changing, I would like to choose something that they offer. This is one that my travel agent suggested. Can someone please give me some info on this place. Good or bad, I'd like to hear all that you have to say about it! TIA!!!

Check tripadvsior.com for hotel reviews.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite there in March 2002. It was fine. Nothing too fancy but perfectly adequate. I think there are better deals around, but this is a nice choice.

crazelion ~ Thanks for the idea of using tripadvisor.com. Unfortunately, there are no reviews of Quality Suites Maingate East (good or bad) on their site. However, it was a good suggestion, and I will keep this address on hand for future use. THANKS!

disneysteve ~ Thanks for your "review". I appreciate your quick response, and as I have not completely made my decision, I will continue to look for "better" values until I do decide for sure.

Anyone else out there stay at Quality Suites Maingate East that would like to give an opinion? It would be greatly appreciated!

What other places do you have to choose from? If you post a list, I'm sure you can collect some opinions on which would be best.

We stayed there for 5 days this past June and it was fine. We stayed in a 2 bedroom and had plenty of room. The pool was great. There are plenty of stores and resturants near and around the hotel. Please feel free to ask any questions. We really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at Quality Suites (2 BR/2BA) about a year ago. Can't say that I would do it again. There were hard french fries under the dining room table. The refrigerator door wouldn't close completely. Bedrooms were fine, but the bathrooms definitely needed some repair, tiles were gone, tub was badly stained. Price was great, but I guess we got what we paid for. The free breakfast was actually pretty good. We would go get pastries, cereal, etc. and make some bacon in the microwave. Oh yeh, it took FOREVER for the microwave to cook the bacon!!

We are not picky people. We stay at Quality Inns, Comfort Inns, Sleep Inns (all of the hotels in that chain since we are members of their Guest Privileges program) quite frequently. I was just not very happy with this particular hotel at all.

I don't know anything about any of the others on your list, however.

I stayed in a 1bdrm this past Nov/Dec. Definately not luxury BUT we thought it was fine. I would stay there again. Our room was clean and everything was in working order. We appreciated using the mini kitchen to save some money on meals. The free breakfast worked very well. There was enough of a variety to keep everyone happy. Convenient to lots of stores and restaurants. If you are looking for an economical place to stay, this place is fine. Althought the pool was basic, my kids really enjoyed it.

Though we have stayed @ Quality Suites Maingate before and liked it. It was frugal and accomdations were ok..... we have decided to change to HIFS this May for 3 nights. Quality Suites= $110/ night .... HIFS = $89/night.
Saving $20 a night = lunch daily and the zero entry pool for disabled child is more appealing!

Some of the hotels that you mentioned are on priceline. We needed to add a day to our trip and tried using price line. We got the La Quinta -- formerly the Four Point Sherton for only $21 a night. I thought the hotel room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We did not really look at all of the things that there were to do at the hotel, but the pools looked very nice and the Pizza Hut and snack counter were a nice addition. I thought for the price, it could not be beat.
