Is it just me or has the quality of the food gone down in recent years? I just returned from a weekend trip to WDW. We did Chef Mickey's for dinner. The prime rib was kind of fatty. I also thought there was more of a selection in years past. :confused3 Maybe I'm just being picky.

I can tell you off the bat that your first mistake was eating at chef mickeys. lol:lmao:
There's nothing i liked about that restaurant. Its not gross, but its honestly not good either. I've tried it once, but i know i'll never go back. Honestly aside from c.mickeys, the worst restaurant on disney property has got to be Tony's 100%. Its the absolute worst meal i have ever had at disney ever ever ever. I'd much sooner crack open a can of chef boyardee ravioli than eat there. :rotfl2:

Well, one problem is if you were expecting "prime rib"...they quit serving prime rib at the buffets several years ago...it's just roast beef now. What's ironic is the supposed reason for the change was to serve a "leaner and healthier cut of beef"...yet your serving was fatty. Sounds like they're going with a cheaper roast beef cut, too.

We were not impressed with Chef Mickey for dinner...for breakfast it's fine. But dinner - I think you're really paying for the characters, there and the food is less important. We thought it was about chain-restaurant-buffet quality. Have had better food at other Disney buffets.

In general, would not say that all meals/restaurants have gone downhill...we enjoy most of our meals at Disney. We've had a few bad ones but most are very good.

Aww :( Sorry you had a bad experience at Tony's. My fiance and i have eaten there twice--most recently this February. We loved it. I tried the gnocchi since i'd never had it before it it was delish!

We ate at Chef Mickeys 6 years ago and thought it was horrible so I guess it is staying the same?

Our Nov trip we noticed the quality of the beef at the signature restaurants was awful but in Feb we went to the Yachtsman and it was outstanding.

Over the last 4 years we have stopped going to all dinner buffets because the foods are overloaded with salt. The only good one left is Cape May Clambake
