I have read on a couple of threads that there is plenty to eat on the QSDP but I was just wondering what the quality of it is like? I don't mind eating quick service food as long as its edible haha!:rotfl2:

You can get fantastic food on the qsdp, equally like at table service, it can be adequate. The quality of the normal burger and fries sort of meal is just what you expect really, it is what it is. But the quality of food at say the Poly CS is fabulous as is Wolfgang Puck. We had the best Asian salad in the ABC CS place in HS. We thought the CS food at China in EPCOT was dreadful but loved what we had at the Sunshine Foodcourt in the Land at EPCOT. The make your pasta at POR is great also. There really is some great quality tasty food available and some quite horrid quality available too!:goodvibes

I think it's fair to say that the quality can vary quite widely. The food is very rarely "bad" but there are some places where it is excellent, but overall it's just OK food. Personally, I couldn't do the QSDP again, not because of the quality, because I can count on one hand with fingers left over the number of times I have had poor quality food and I've been to WDW pretty much every year for the last 20 years. It's more an issue of being a bit of a foodie and liking the finer things in life. :rotfl2:

I don't like eating from paper plates with plastic cutlery all day every day for a fortnight and I like to enjoy some signature dining too. Having said that, you won't be stuck with bad food and there is a good variety. I tend to find that the QS locations at hotels are pretty good.

I think the QSDP is adequate, you won't go hungry and it does take out the need for booking restaurants for those who are opposed to planning and a regimented trip. The down side is that you won't be able to do any character meals and you'll remember how much you appreciate a real knife that cuts food!

To be honest we got the QSDP free so we did say we would more than likely pay for most evening meals or character dining so would probably use them for breakfast and lunch :thumbsup2

The food at the resorts and DTD tends to be better than the parks as there is more choice and variety.

We don't have a problem with the QS food but we do like our TS meals be them onsite or offsite (I would miss my steak if we just did QS :rotfl: )so we wouldn't pay for it as we wouldn't use all the credits but for free there is no problem :thumbsup2

Completely agree! There are some good options at the resorts and Wolfgang Puck Express is a fantastic use of a QS credit.

OP if you're happy to pay for other meals OOP, then the QSDP is absolutely fine. You certainly won't go hungry, because it's a ridiculous amount of food. 2 favourites of mine are WGP at DTD and the Turkey Dinner at Port Orleans Riverside.

If you are going to do this then maybe you should look at upgrading to the TS plan.
By the way its not all paper plates and plastic cutlery on the QSDP and you could always take your own metal knife and fork etc :rotfl:
Oh and I am a BIG foodie also and find that the TS meals can also be hit or miss.
Just depends on your touring style really, we don't plan our holiday around our food we just go with the flow and eat when we are hungry in which ever park we are in and have generally found the food great (but we never go the the burger/chicken and fries kinda meal). We only do a couple of sit down meals nowadays and are more then happy with the CS meals, plastic cutlery and paper plates an all!:rotfl:

We LOVED the QSDP, especially in Wolfgang Puck Express in Downtown Disney, each time we went our bill would have been about $50, plus its unlimited drink refills and the food is amazing! We're definitely going to do it again next time, we even had about 10 snack credits left at the end because we would keep our drinks and desserts that came with a meal for snacks through the day. Table service would be wasted on us because we like to be able to get in and eat quickly so we're not wasting time. If you do go for the QSDP make sure you go to Be Our Guest for lunch, we went back twice because it was so good and definitely a good use of a credit.

Not sure it would be worth it for us to upgrade the dining plan as there are a couple of days that we are going to universal and out and about so we would probably eat there on them days.:)

I can only agree about Wolfgang Puck Express - there's plenty of variety too so that you can eat there more than once.

Yak and Yeti at AK is also different and tasty. Pepper Market at Coronado Springs Resort is good as well.

A snack credit cake at Starring Rolls was also a good breakfast!:hyper:

A few places are a bit crappy- we didnt find anywhere better than basic tasting in MK or the water parks but we found the QS we had in DTD and Epcot all very very nice. The best quality to me was wolfgang puck express, earl of sandwich, the fish&chip place in DTD was ok too. We also were really impressed with Yak&yeti qs, starring rolls, pepper market at csr

We did 18 days on QSDP last year (and simillar lengths of stay the three years prior also on QSDP)

I will preface this by saying we are fairly picky eaters in that we don't eat fast food, (and I don't eat red meat), pork, fried food ..... so if anyone should have had issues finding decent food it should have been us! There is nothing to worry about. As others have said, in particular, resort CS meals tend to be a bit better than at the parks, but even so, we've managed just fine to find an array of healthy (and not so healthy but not typical fast food type) offerings, including grilled salmon, cous cous or quinoa salads, wraps, grilled chicken breast sandwiches, quesadillas .....

Have a nosy at some of the menus online to get an idea and make a note of anywhere you specifically would like to go/to avoid so you can keep that in mind when visiting :)
