Hi Chris,
The QII is our favourite "budget" hotel in fact we our going back there this December (no DVC points left...:( )We booked direct with the Hotel and got a great rate. The rooms are clean and very comfortable if not spectactular and have a fridge microwave and coffee maker. We have never had a parking problem and often managed to get a space next to our room.Lots of restaurants are within walking distance and the huge Mc Donalds is next door as is a gas station. We also enjoy the buffet at the hotel (roast beef is delicious)and in the past they have had an "early bird special"
Unversal Studios,Wet and Wid and Sea World are all close by and I believe there is transport available (at cost ) to Disney although we have always driven
Hope this helps but if you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

Mick.

Hi Chris,Were going to QII For the 3 rd time on Friday ,Cant praise it enough, totally agree with Mick on everything he said,The location is superb any direction is bars, restaurants, fast food etc, lots of gift shops across the road is a 7-11 and in the previously mentioned gas station next door they do superb coffee!!However the huge McDonalds in my opinion is a bit grotty!
The rooms are basic but nice and clean,My only advice is if you are driving use the side door onto Sand Lake road as the traffic on I Drive can be horrendous especially in the evenings,
Good Luck,IAN

We stayed at the QII back in March this year. It was great for a budget place, room was wonderful, couldn't fault it. Fridge, microwave and coffee perculator - no kettle tho, but I used to get a cup of earl grey from the 7-11 just over the road (if you go out the side entrance). There is also a great pub out the side entrance (big green letters - you can't miss it!) they sell cheap beer (much cheaper than the Topsy Turvey Lounge!) and cheap snacks. There's also a jukebox and about 4 pool tables. Denny's and IHOP are nearby and 24 hour, plus if you're driving, there are restaurants like Chili's, Pizza Hut, TGI's etc only 2 minutes up the road. It makes an ideal base. Oh, and you get a complimentary shuttle bus to Universal and Seaworld and back again. You have to pay about $12 each for the Disney bus shuttle tho. It's well worth staying in, you'll have a great time there

oh and by the way, ignore the huge McDonalds - opt for Checkers on the opposite side of the road!! Much better value and the food is delicious! You must try their chili cheese fries! We had 2 double chili cheeseburgers, a chili hot dog, chili cheese fries and 2 large drinks for $8 - you can't go wrong with that ::yes::

Stayed there in 1998 for a week. No complaints really, plenty of parking and good central location. Didn't eat in the hotel though so I couldn't comment on the food. Although there are more than enough eateries nearby.

I'd stay again.

hi, last time we stayed there we found a new and what we thought easier way off getting to disney, after a few busy mornings on the i4 a fellow guest in the hotel told us to drive to the end off sandlake road from out of the side entrance and turn left into apopka-vineland road carry on straight down until you come to the entrance to down town disney market place you can carry on round to get to the theme parks, we found this lots quicker if the i4 was busy and quieter, hope this makes sense susie

We went last year, and are going next year!
I prefered this hotel compared to the Quality Inn Plaza, its a great budget hotel with basic but well equipped rooms!, clean pool and areas, etc! It's a very good hotel and nice! :) We enjoyed our stay there! thats the reason why DH picked it this time! We never had a problem with parking! there was plenty room.
The hotel is nextdoor to "Dennys" "Worlds largest mc'ds" "golfing" etc, and across the road is plenty shops etc.! its in a good location!!

Overall its a great hotel!!!

Just booked to go back to quality inn international in April 2004. Really cant wait. It is just in a great location. i dont need to hire a car as you can bus to all the theme parks easily and you can walk to a multitude of resturants in minutes, great shopping and its even got a crazy golf course next door(with its own scary volcano) I couldnt fault this hotel. After my last visit in september when we had to cut are holiday short because of a death in the family, the manager tore up our phone bill from the room, as we were making lots of calls to arrange going home early. So in my opinion the staff are good too.

Just back from QII ( also known as HighQ to the locals ) and it was great...........except the buffet dinners weren't good.

Go to the Golden Corral for your evening meal. $9.99 for a fantastic selection of starters, main dishes inc steak and pies, desserts and ice-cream galore. I liked it better than Ponderosa for dinner. Its opposite McDonalds so its easier to cross Sandlake Road and turn right . Its behind Walgreens. The locals eat there so thats a good recommendation.

Enjoy !!!!!!

Im very surprised at the last two posts ive just got back from staying there for the 3rd time but its the first time I checked out the restaurant,And was very impressed with the buffet!! I at in there 8 nights and was very impressed at the price and quailty .All 4 of us were eating for $22!!!

We tried the dinner buffet twice while we were there, had one really good meal and one just ok meal. I can thoroughly recommend the breakfast buffet tho, it was really great :)

Each to their own but I really didn't like the buffet dinners in the hotel. Breakfast was OK but I had dinner twice there and it was very poor.

The food was dried up and looked as if it had been lying out too long . Golden Corral was far superior.

I never tried Golden Corral but will be trying it this time. I love the buffets, Ponderosa is great. Oh and for anyone staying at QII, over the road about a minute walk up to the left (if you come out of the back entrance) there is a place called the Italian Eatery and their buffet is really yum and very reasonable. They've got 2 or 3 different pizzas, meatballs, 3 or 4 pastas, salad etc. I'd recommend it.

Myself, my partner and my nearly 10 yr old daughter are staying here 30/03/04 - 13/04/04.

Hope we all enjoy, and reading all your comments I'm sure we will.
