Qualifying for DAS

The adult reclining wheelchairs are still are not really easy for pushing more then short distances. There are people who at capable of sitting up and need a reclined or tilt in space wheelchair. Those people might not night have any other optics, but they pretty limited in their ability.

But , this kind of wheelchair would very much overkill and not a realistic option for someone who is able to walk and has concerns regarding how much walking and how much sitting. They would be better served by a regular wheelchair that they can sit in, park or push as needed.

Sue, I did find the website where I found the chair rentals. Here is the company - http://www.orlandomedicalrentals.com/

They do say they rent for shorter times, but I have no idea if they will rent to people in the hotels, and they do cost a lot for a wheelchair rental. They do have a lot of specialty equipment, so they may be helpful for some people who do not want to fly with their own equipment, including things like feeding pumps.

I should state I have no knowledge of this company beyond what I found on Google. I know of no one who has used the company, so if anyone decides to use it, please proceed with caution.

As to the DAS staying valid when the person leaves the park, I was not sure how well that would work with the new MagicBand system. It is good to know.
I think the OP friend really dose not need a DAS card as she can use a wheel chair or roller and push it and sit when needed ( I know this is not her first chose but it would work for her) there have been a number of people that have come on with back issues and this is what disney standard answer to them. that said no one her can say whether someone will get a DAS card or not only the CM at GR can say that.

you can get a return time with the DAS card and leave the park and come back latter and get on a ride with a return time for earlier that day I have done this a number of times and now for the most part I just go to first aid to rest as it takes over an hour to get to the hotel and back and most of the time I just need an hours.
