Can you tell that we liked the Pop food court? I would 2nd the person today who stated you should stay at a Value if you prefer the QSDP. We loved Pop!
I would agree with the above, and would go further to say not only do the values make sense with the QSDP, but the POP is the best overall QS at the resorts due to the variety. Other resorts have some very good individual items, but not as much variety.
Of course, were going to the POP in August with free QSDP, so I may be biased. I thought hard about the CSR, but we can get two rooms at the POP for less than one at the CSR even considering the cost difference with the upgrade to basic DDP dining.
We talked with the family, and they would rather have QSDP anyway as they do not want to be tied to the ressie, and they wanted the extra snack instead.
I think the overall quality and choices in counter service have come a long ways in the last 15 years, and I have not seen the same progress in the TS restaurants, in fact much the opposite at many locations. I'm not saying all the TS is bad, just that the prices have gone up significantly while I don't think the quality and choices have kept up.
Many more healthy and interesting options in CS meals now than there used to be if you know where to look.
(edit) The thing that one needs to understand is that CS meals do take some planning and awareness just like TS meals do. We take a report binder with the menus from all of the cs choices we like with us that we keep in the room at our resort. Each time we leave the room, we check out the choices in the park (or DTD or resort, etc.) that we are visiting. This allows us to make informed decisions when we're hungry, rather than ending up with a burger because it's close. I just printed out the menus for our upcoming trip in August, and my family is already excited about the menus and snack choices.
I would also add that the 9 and under choices are somewhat limited. Back when we had small ones, we often shared our adult meals, as they are typically too much food for us anyway.
