QSDP or regular DP

Currently our package includes the QSDP (free based on a pin). We are staying in a value resort so I think that was the option. Can we upgrade to the regular dining plan so we can do table service meals? It would appear its either no more or a dollar more for the kids (3) and $10 more each for my husband and I per day. Seems worth it if we can get a table service meal out of it. Right now we are planning one dinner at Park Fare, the remainder we just figured we would eat at our hotel or whatever lunch option was available on the QS plan (we are staying at POP so 2 QS would mean we could do breakfast there plus the option of lunch there unless we found a QS place within the parks. We will only be there 3 nights and the first night we land at 5:30 so we likely won't be settled into our room before 7:30. Is Park Fare a 1 or 2 TS? Its really not an issue considering we would have it from the night we arrive if it cost 2 TS. I'm not really clear though what else you get on the regular dining plan - would we still be able to do lunch and breakfast at a QS type place???

It will be cheaper to upgrade than to pay oop for 1900 PF based on how long you are staying. It will only cost you about $90 to upgrade and it will cost you just about as much to pay oop for that 1 meal! 1900 is only 1ts so you get 2 more to choose from.
The regular dining plan is 1ts, 1cs, and 1 snack per night. It's really a great deal especially with free dining.

on the regular plan, you get a cs a night and 1 ts a night plus a snack. So if you are there for 3 nights, you get included in the plan, 3 CS, 3 TS and 3 snacks per person. Personally I believe that it's worth upgrading even if you only want to do 1 TS when you have children.

1900 is 1 ts.

Yes, you can upgrade to the regular dining plan and pay the difference :). The regular plan gives you 1 TS, 1 CS, and 1 snack per night of your stay. 1900 Park Fare is 1 credit ;). We love the dining plan and can't go to Disney without it......I think it's worth it to upgrade from the free QSDP to the regular DDP, especially if you plan on doing a couple TS restaurants :goodvibes.

Thanks for the replies!!! It seems to make sense to upgrade because then the out of pocket meal we are missing can be a QS which will be much cheaper than a table service somewhere. And if we upgrade it means we can book another restaurant - now I just need to figure out which one!!! Any good 1TS recommendations for girls age 2-7??

If they are into princesses our 2 favorites are Akshure House for breakfast (Epcot) has all the princesses (except Cinderella) and then 1900 Park Fare for the Happily Ever After Dinner at GF. This one is great because not only do you get Cinderella and Prince Charming but you get the Step Mother and the Step Sisters, DD was thrilled more about them then Cinderella :)

Both are 1 TS meal

We were also going to do the QSDP because I like the idea of snacks, but just 1 TS dinner is the cost difference pretty much between the 2 for the week. Since we now have 3 TS meals planned I think I'm going to upgrade :) to the DDP, I would love the DXDP but the cost difference just is not in the cards for us :)
