We will be taking the kids to the Ft next Friday night for pony rides, dinner and the movie. With all the threads about the decorations I was wondering ...
1. first how do we get from the entrance to the pony rides, trails end and then movie? lol. What bus? where are they located compared to each other. and
2. what is the best way to see the decorations without having a cart?

Thanks!!

Bless your hearts! I hope you have a wonderful time. I went with 4 kids ages 12, 10, 11 and 2, I can say that my bunch would not have survived the wait on the buses. They enjoyed the cart as much as anything else, however if that just isnt a option, allow yourself plenty of time to get from point A to B. the only option for seeing the decorations throughout the loops without a cart is either by foot or bikes maybe? Not sure on the size of your party or how old the children are but maybe that is an option? Ahh either way, just being at the fort is a treat in itself, the movie with chip and dale is awesome, I loved it as much as the kids! :thumbsup2

For decorations my recommendation is take a bus to the Settlement and then walk around. Several of the biggest displays by Fort regulars are a short walk from this area. One is right near the Trading Post and the others are just outside the main walkway out of the Settlement area - you can't miss them.

Here's a MAP that might help.

Internal bus will take you from the Outpost area (which is where driving or buses to the Fort drop you off) to the Settlement. All buses are marked, but if you're not sure, just tell the driver where you're trying to go.

If you're coming over from MK, Contemp or WL, just catch a FW boat and it'll drop you right at the Settlement area.

Have fun! :santa:

Oh Great! Thanks. The boat is also a great idea. The kids are 11 and 2 so we can push the 2 yr old in the stroller and walk around a bit.
Thanks!

:santa:Thanks for the Map. Looking at it is the pony rides near the front where it says trail rides or back by the petting farm/ranch?

and does anyone know which bus I take or where we get off for the campfire program. I have heard the busses are confusing.

The pony rides are in the Settlement area, within the Tri-Circle-D Farm. This is close to Pioneer Hall.

I see your kids are 11 and 2. Not sure if you are planning on the 11 year old riding, but just so you are not surprised when you arrive, here are the restrictions:

My 4 year old has enjoyed the ponies for the past couple of years. My 10 year old has been too tall to ride since she was 6 or 7.

As far as the bus to the campfire program, I think the easiest way is to take the Orange bus to the Meadows Trading Post and walk from there. You could also take the Yellow bus to the 1400 loop and walk through the loop to the campfire, but that might be more confusing.

Have a great time!
