QS Dining Question

I am debating on whether or not the dining plan is for us or not. We have our favorite places to eat (that are on the QS list) but what is actually included? We looked at a breakdown of prices and it doesn't seem to be much of a savings but I may be missing something. I understand each person gets 2 QS meals, snack per day.
I read somewhere that a meal (combo) is that plus a side. Is this correct? Are fountain drinks included at all.

I understand what the snacks are. I guess I just need clarification on what a meal would consist of.

Thank you.

Entrée, dessert, and non-alcoholic drink. If the entrée is listed with a side (burger and fries), then you get a side. If there is no side listed with the entrée, you don't.

Yes, a bottle of water is considered an option as a beverage with your QS credit.

I don't want to necessarily want to use it for a snack credit but was thinking with my entree since I'm not much of a soda drinker. I figured since it was a non-Alcholic drink

Breakfast: The QS credit includes entree and non-alcoholic fountain beverage. There is no dessert component at breakfast.

Lunch and Dinner: The QS credit includes entree, dessert and non-alcoholic fountain beverage.

The most common fountain beverages are soda, coffee, tea, iced tea, lemonade, bottle of water.

Since many get tired of all of the desserts many of the QS venues will let you substitute a bottle of water or one of the kid's sides (e.g. apple slices, carrot or veggie sticks) at lunch or dinner.
