QS at the parks

Hi everyone,

I need some help. Last October our family went to disney on the DDP so we ate all of our meals at table service and signature restaurants throughout the park. We did a character meal each day so we were a little spoiled!

This year, we are going in December for a quick unexpected trip and we're staying offsite so we will not be on the dining plan. My plan is too cook breakfast in our room and possibly dinner if we are home at a decent time from the park (which I doubt!) Because we didn't expect the trip and have a new baby on the way for the end of August, we are going to try and save money on the food by eating at quick service places.

Here is what we have so far. If you could list the best places to eat that are QS in the parks, I would greatly appreciate the information! There are a few table services that we really enjoyed and would like to go back to though.

Sunday - Travel (Chef Mickey's for Dinner)
Monday - Sea World
Tuesday - MK (I'm thinking dinner at the plaza but what about lunch?)
Wednesday - Epcot (dinner at LeCellier, but what about lunch?)
Thursday - DHS (We ate at H&V and liked it but did not like 50's prime time, sci-fi would scare the daylights out of my 4 year old!) Any suggestions for lunch and dinner considering we will probably stay for the light show?
Friday - DTD/Travel

Thanks again! It is definitely not as much fun planning ADR's when paying OOP!!!:joker:

there are three that we frequent most often. Pecos Bill's has burgers with a great fixins bar that makes the burgers really good. I also get the barbecue pork sandwich. Cosmic Ray's has a wide variety of choices, everything from burgers to chicken wraps to roast chicken. One word of caution - there are three separate ordering areas depending on what you intend to eat. That can be a problem sometimes if you're juggling kids. Columbia Harbor House has a variety of sandwiches and soups that you may not find in other CS locations like a tuna sandwich and a hummus sandwich. You don't say when you're going in December. In late December, when it's really busy, El Pirata is open and is good.

Epcot has a lot of choices. The Moroccan, Japan, German and English pavilions all ahve good food that are pretty representative of the country's cuisine. Sunshine Seasons, in the Land by Soarin' has a variety of counters like a food court that has generally better food. Epcot is the one park where the problem with QS locations is the good choices.

DHS is a little harder. I personally like Studio Catering but it doesn't get a lot of attention. Backlot Express is pretty good. It has pretty standard fare.

One word of caution on Sea World. It's not designed for cold weather. Most of the exhibits are outdoors and are built to allow wind to blow through them. Most of the QS type restaurants have outdoor seating. There is one in the center that has indoor seating but no heat. Weather in that area in December can be fickle. We were there for New Years week a year ago. The day we arrived the temperature was over 80 degrees. By the end of the week is was in the 40s. The day we were at Sea World it never got out of the 40s. We still enjoyed it.

In the MK go to CHH. They have great Tuna & Hummus sandwhiches. If you want burgers @ the MK -Peco Bill's
@ HS Rosie's Cafe
@Epcot -Elec Umbrella
