I am new to this, so a couple of questions.

How quickly to you have to guess to be in the first 50 who get some points?

How long does it normally take before someone guesses the correct value and does the link or the response you get change once someone has gotten the correct number?

I'm just wondering if there is a best practice to get points from this.

There used to be a lot of people playing this game on QR and the correct number was usually posted in about an hour and only good for about 30 minutes after that.
Now there are not so many people playing on the boards. It sometimes takes a couple of hours before someone posts the correct answer and the answer may be good for 2 or 3 hours before the 50th person puts in the right number.

The game is played at midnight, noon, and 7 pm to give people on different schedules a chance to play.

A "best practice" would involve checking the boards frequently during the hour or so until the correct answer is posted. People help by cross-posting answers here from other Internet boards.
