QIP Room Cleanliness

We're attending the IAAPA trade show this year at the Orange County Convention Centre, and of course, we'll be doing Disney and Universal, too. The company is putting us at the budget hotel Quality Inn Plaza, on the International Drive.

I've scoured for infos on QIP at tripadvisor.com and here at Disboards. Although it is conveniently located (near Universal, lots of restaurants, grocery stores, shops, and in walking distance to the convention center),
I heard the rooms are rather dirty (and the infamous musty smell!), and noisy.

But then again, most of the reviews are from 2002-2007.

I need recent reviews (2008). If QIP isn't exactly spotless, how dirty is it? Because I have a pretty bad case of dust allergy and I can get quite a reaction if the room has films of dust everywhere. Any QIP patrons here? Thanks!

I went to that conference last year! Anyway, I can't say anything about that hotel because I've never stayed there, but some of the hotels along international drive are patroned by people that don't particularly care much about having nice accomodations so if the demand isn't there, they aren't going to fix it. We stayed at one last October when I was house hunting and I cannot remember what it was called, but there were drunk college kids there throwing beer bottles onto our balcony and at the sliding glass door at 2am. And they were cursing quite loudly. I'm not saying that this would be for all hotels along I-Drive, but it's for several places.

Have fun at the conference and have fun on your trip, and I hope the hotel turns out to be an ok one!

Cool! I still have vague ideas of what to expect but I'm terribly excited about the conference and being in Orlando overall.

Good point. The drunk teens sounds horribly scary, especially because there will only be 3 petite Asian ladies in my group. We'll be trembling like chihuahuas all night long. Did you call the cops?

Oh, and do most i-drive hotels have laundry facility?
