Q. for December Orlando vacationers

Hi folks:
Husband and I are thinking about a short trip to Orlando, sometime during the first two weeks in Dec. Just wondering what the weather is like that time of year? I know one cannot predict what each season will bring weather wise but just overall, what have the first two weeks in Dec been like temp wise? We won't be doing the parks but instead hoping to get some good deals in the malls. Any idea about the shopping during that time of year? Thanks!

We usually go in September and May. In 2000 we went during the second full week of December and stayed for 8 days. We did not have to wear long sleeves one time and the kids were ages 3 to 19. I don't know if that is typical, but I would take a sweatshirt or jacket just in case.

2 years ago it was close to perfect: mid 70s with only spotty rain showers.

last year it got down to the 40s in the evening around the time of illuminations...

it can really vary...

We pack half winter half summer. Commin from IN we have our winter coats, hats, gloves too. Driving down we need our coats an I keep hats an gloves for everyone in van all winter long anyway.

We have had visits that summer stuff was never needed, visits where summer stuff was needed an not the winter, visits that we swam after dark an never got cold when getting out sometimes don't do that in July at home only to have it turn COLD the next day an we was wearing winter coats, hats, gloves wishing we had long johns freezing cold an it was windy to boot.

We are going in Dec stayin in a condo I'm taking 3 summer outfits, 3 winter, couple pairs of capris an the winter coats. Washer an dryer in unit we can do laundry daily if needed.

Pack layers ie tanks/T-shirts/Sweats and a jacket. Pants that change to shorts are very good too.

December can really fluctuate so plan for both.
