I'm trying to understand about these and I have read other posts and there are still a few things I don't think I understand. First of all, how do they end up being a good deal? I have looked at the places where you are allowed to use them and it looks like they are mostly (or all) counter service places. Most of the meals are not over 10.99 and those ones include the side dish. Once you add the drink and the dessert it ends up being very close to $17.50. The only thing I was able to get to equal more than that so far was the prime rib sub at Beaches and Cream with a soda and one of the $7.99 desserts it equals around $21.00. Other than that, I can't seem to find a 'great deal.' Except knowing that your food is paid for before you get there ;) My other question is, are there any restrictions (other than the kitchen sink at B & C?) For example, we are staying at Pop Century... could we use the voucher in this way

16 inch cheese pizza (entree) $13.99
French Fries (side) $1.89
Soda ??? ( no price listed- I assume about $1.99)
Most Expensive Dessert $4.99
Total $22.86

This would be a GREAT deal that we could both share and have more than enough, but are you allowed to use them for things like pizza? What are some examples of meals where you have used vouchers? What was the total savings? Thanks in advance for any help :) :)

There are three types of vouchers:
Breakfast: good for any sitdown breakfast including the character meals (not at Swan/Dolphin) and these are 17.75
quick&casual: these are good for almost all the counter service restaurants at the parks(except some carts) and many of the food courts in resorts. Good for one entree, side, drink, dessert for 11.50
Kingdom luncheon: good for sit-down restaurants in parks/resorts but only for lunch. They are 30.00 we do not usually have a big lunch so these were not for us. They are for lunch only at one of the sit-downs in WDW.

We have used the breakfast and q&c and love them. Nice to have some meals pre-paid. CM know about them and you don't have any problems using them. They also include tax and gratuity so they are good deal in that respect.
We were Connections members (yearly membership was $79.00) and always had great service from them; although others have had issues. If you join for a trial $1/one month, make sure you cancel on time or they will charge you for the year. You can buy up to 40 of each kind of voucher per year. They increased the yearly fee significantly ($139/yr) so I did not rejoin. They also had great discounts on park passes at IOA, US and WDW along with Blockbuster, TOYRUS and other restaurants so we have gotten our $79! Hope this helps. We have seen people selling these vouchers for WAY over value at e-bay. I don't recommend that. Floridaorlandotickets.com now sells these at a higher price than connections but they are the same vouchers; Hotwiresavings (got to Hotwire.com and there is a link) sells them at the same price as connections. There is no fee with Floridaornadotickets.com and Hotwire has a $1 trial monthly membership. WE DO LOVE HAVING THESE AND used 6 BREAKFAST AND 12 Q& C TO USE FOR OUR 12/28-1/02/04 TRIP.

Just came back from a trip using Q & C vouchers. This was our second trip using them. I bought a total of 8 vouchers and used them at the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs and Beaches and Cream. We definitely got a great value at both of these places. However, we often got more food than we could eat! We used 1 voucher for each adult in our party of 4 adults/2 young kids(ages 5 and 2). At Coronado Springs we each got the Prime Rib dinner and took our desserts home with us. At Beaches and Cream, the food portions aren't huge. The year before, we used 2 vouchers for our party of 3 adults/2 young kids and it didn't seem like enough food. I think we ordered some extra sides for the kids. Although last year you were able to order the Kitchen Sink as your dessert, so we definitely didn't leave hungry! At times, I thought the vouchers were inconvenient since we had to make special trips to go to those 2 restaurants. And it might not necessarily be money saving if you wanted to order the cheapest thing off the menu and get water as a beverage and skip dessert. But I wouldn't hesitate to use them on a future trip or reccomend them to a fellow traveller.

If you want a GREAT deal then, yes, you do have to do a little planning, but they're a good value just about anywhere. Yes, Beaches & Cream and Pepper Market have the best "money saving" value, but you can get good deals elsewhere. Plus, even the example the original poster displayed, you can see it's still going to save you $6 or so. Add that up over the length of your visit and it can save you a great deal of money. The Q&C vouchers are $11.50 if you buy them direct. If you go through ebay you're going to pay quite a bit more, hence they wouldn't be as great of a value.

You could not use a voucher for a 16" pizza. Even for some of the biggest eaters (1 person), a 16" pizza would not be an entree. It is meant to be shared by more than one, just like the Kitchen Sink.

There are values everywhere:

All-Star Intermission Food Court:
Chicken Parmesan $7.99
Reg. Beverage $1.79
Banana Split $4.99

Total price: $14.77 plus tax and tip. While the Chicken Parmesan was the most expensive item on the menu (I didn't pick it for that reason, I picked it because my ds, 16, would order that), the bevage and dessert I picked were not. So, depending on your family, it could save you more or less.

One more example, Liberty Inn at Epcot (US):

Bacon Dbl Cheeseburger (comes with fries): $7.19
Rootbeer Float $3.49
Fruit Cup w/soft serve ice cream $3.49

Total price: $14.17 plus tax and tip.

I think for a lot of people, my family included, one of the benefits is also getting some meals and being able to share them. I know even back home when we go out to eat, we get a dessert and share it between several of us (or all of us, depending on how much we ate previously). Plus, I'm on Weight Watchers so I plan on sharing most of my meals with my 13 year old daughter (she loves steak like I do). I bought some of the Premium meal vouchers and we'll be able to use only 2 or 3 (probably 2) for our family of 6 at the Rainforest Cafe.

Okay, sorry I rambled so much. Just wanted to show you that it is possible to get good deals with these, without a lot of extra work. Also, the fact that you can pay for them ahead of time definitely helps if you're trying to stay on a budget.

at PECOS BILL TALL TALE INN AND CAFE the 1/2 pound burger - $6.89, the Chocolate Cream Pie - $3.49, and a drink - $2.29 = 12.69 before tax which tax is included in the Q&C voucher. My DW gets the chicken wrap at $7.39 - even a better deal there is enough food that we haven't had to get extras for the kids.

Where can you get the Q & C vouchers for $11.50? I was looking at them on www.floridaorlandotickets.net and they were $17.50. If they are only $11.50, that makes a BIG difference in value! Does buying them direct mean I need to do that trial subscription and then cancel? Does anyone have the link for the place where I can do that?
Thanks for all the help!

the Q & C vouchers are 11.50 thru hotwiresavingsclub.com.sorry i don't know how to do links. you do have to join but it is a trial membership and it is free. you just have to cancel it within 30 days. Also there is no shipping charge on the vouchers and they send them very quickly i received mine in less then a week. So it is a very good deal. Hope this helps you.

Purchased my vouchers on e-bay..Have to be patient , but got mine for about 12.00 each..Not bad

Also another difference between Hotwiresavingsclub & COnnections (even though they are owned by the same company) is through Hotwire after the free month trial membership the monthly fee is $7.95 I think. I have kept my membership because I use the other GC's also.

GREAT!
Thanks everyone! I understand a lot more now and it makes more sense that it would be a 'deal' if they cost $11.50 as opposed to $17.50 :) I can't wait to see how much I can save!

Ok, I just started my free trial membership with hotwire savings club and ordered 8 Q & C vouchers. I'm so excited because it's money that is already spent and allotted for something. Thanks for all the help everyone! Since I bought 8 and was going to get the ones that were $17.50 (before everyone stopped me ;) ), you guys already saved me $48 !! YEAHOO!!

Great for you! We loved using these on our last 2 trips. We usually did very well $$ wise with them at B&C, Pecos Bills and cosmic rays, but i enjoyed the pre-paid part of it even more. Nice to not have to calaculate food $$ for some meals. I'm also joining hotwiresavingsclub for next round(previous connections member)

I have a quick question. I seen that Sassagoula floatworks at the port orleans accepts the q & c vouchers. I pulled up the menu and the dinner entrees are like pot roast, barbecue rib dinner, etc. Do you know are you allowed to order those or does it have to be sandwichy? Thank You.:wave2:

The only restriction is that the voucher is good for an entree, side, drink and dessert or a combo meal, drink and dessert. The only restriction I know of is that you cannot get "the kitchen sink" at Beaches and Cream for dessert with the coupon. Pepper Market at CSR also has full meals, like steak and it is no problem there. CM are aware of the coupons and will be good resources for you.

So here is another question that I couldn't find the answer to. What about the places listed that you can use Q & C vouchers, but they are like snack stands. What is considered an entree, what is considered a side, etc??? Many of them don't have desserts. How does this work?

Thanks :)

The ones listed on my Q&C voucher all have some meals( the last ones just expired may 2004). There are not ones that are only snack places like popcorn stands, dole whip, etc. Example of use at :
B&C- cheeseburger (comes with fires or rings and these are your side), drink and brownie sundae.
Pecos Bill's-taco plate, side of chili, drink and churros for dessert.

Don't know about any Q&C voucher that list snack only places. sorry
