PV's First Trip December 2009

Hi! I tried to complete our trip report earlier this year and never finished. Now that I have graduated with my teaching certificate I have time to finish it. I will complete it this time! Promise.
I have a lot of pictures that I would love to share, so with out further ado...our TRIP REPORT.

The trip consisted of me, Amy and Patrick (PV). Here is a picture of us.

I have been a Disney fanatic since I was little. So when I wanted to take Patrick for the very first time, he could not understand what all of the hype was about. We stayed at POP from December 12-17. What will Patrick think of Disney? Will he ever want to return after his first visit?

The night before we left we had a Christmas party to attend. I thought we would only stay for a few a little while and then leave; I was wrong as usual. I knew that 4 am would come early for us both, but who actually sleeps the night before you leave for Disney anyway? When we got home I realized that Patrick had not packed ANYTHING. Someone did not want us to leave.

I know! I had to actually get her out of the suitcase. She would not come to me when I called her.

As I had mentioned earlier I was planning on getting up at 4 am. Our flight did not take off from VA until 7 am. I wanted to get ready and head over to the airport with plently of time for any "unexpected" surprises that could approach. My mom was going to take us to the airport. She is never on time...but to my surprise she was EARLY! I was really worried about not getting through the check-in line and security on time. Patrick thought I was crazy for wanting to get to the airport so early but he went along anyway. We did not have one single issue. We had PLENTY of time. We both got a quick bite to eat and waited until we were called to board. We had a direct flight to MCO.

Waiting for take-off. I can tell I was sleep deprived but I was too excited to let it bother me.

Patrick decided to video our trip...starting with take off

We watched Christmas Vacation on the airplane (I brought the laptop) and we noticed we could see our reflection in the screen

We had a great flight and in no time we were walking around MCO!

I wanted to go to MVMCP but figured I would wait and get a feel for things once we arrived. I knew it was Patricks first trip and I did not want to overwhelm him. I was really excited when I saw this:

Patrick saw the NASA store and wanted to stop. I was happy because they sell astronaut ice cream.

Then we followed the signs to ME

Not an ounce of problems...and before we knew it we were seated and ready to roll on ME!

We had what seemed like a really short bus trip and the next thing I knew we were about to head under the arch!

Up next...check-in and what will Patrick decided to do first! Will our room be ready? Will he want to go to a park?

The bus had to make one stop before we headed over to POP. There were guests on our bus that would be staying at Caribbean Beach. This was a quick and fast stop as it was on the way to POP.

Then we were on our way to:

Patrick and I got of the bus and headed right in to the lobby. I had never stayed at POP before and was excited to see what it was all about.

We took a few pictures of some of the memories we had growing up.

I had checked in online prior to leaving VA. The process was simple and easy. We did notice that the regular check-in line was moving a little faster than the line we were in. We only had about 3 families ahead of us so it really did not matter. We were finally on property so I was happy.

The CM that checked us in was really nice. He gave Patrick a "1st Visit" pin. I thought this was a cute touch...even as an adult checking in! Our room was not ready (it was about 9:45 am) so we decided to have the text message sent to my phone once we could go to our "home" for the next few days. We were going to be staying in the 70's building with the giant Big Wheel! It is a very short trip to the main builing and to the buses. The trip was starting off in the right direction.

I asked Patrick if he wanted to have breakfast at Chef Mickey's while we were there. I had told him about it and he seemed interested. We went over and got in line so we could check for any openings they might have while we were at Disney. As it turned out they were still booked! I asked if there was another breakfast that had an opening; and there were a few. We decided on Ohana. We made the reservation the morning of our last day. I was already looking forward to it.

I had waited to ask Patrick about MVMCP. I was worried that they might sell out before we got there. Patrick totally seemed into it when I asked him about going! We bought tickets for later in the week and I was so excited!

Patrick decided that we should go to EPCOT first! He said that he wanted to ride Mission Space. So off to EPCOT we went.

Okay, so it has been a while since I last posted. I am going to pick up with EPCOT!

We headed straight over to Mission Space. Patrick went right over to the orange side. There was not a very long wait. Here are some of the pictures we took while we were in line.

After Mission Space we went to find some food. We did not make it past Mexico. We were both STARVING by this point. We ended up eating at La Cantina De San Angel.
