PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

How can the incentives be only for one week when, in writing, it states differently on the initial pricing chart??
Because the language says they can change them or pull them at any time, and so the 7 day limit comes from that.

It’s simply telling a buyer that after 7 days, there is no guarantee that the incentive won’t have been changed.

The pricing chart also states (in the fine print)
“Offer end date is subject to change.
Offer expiration varies based on interaction, subject to change”
Maybe they have sold so many points they’ve realised they don’t need any incentives… I know my guide said he had sold more than 20 contracts on the first day of sales… maybe that’s 3000 points. 50 guides doing the same is 150,000 points in one day possibly!
Or maybe it’s just rubbish and the incentives will continue until December. I have a hard time believing that they wouldn’t also offer incentives to new members, so they would at least have to match whatever that offer is.

That was me, and it was my guide who specifically pointed it out to me.

I wanted to let all of the DUO STUDIO people here know that I got a call today from guest services with an offer to upgrade my current cash booked stay in a duo to a deluxe free of charge. So DVD is trying to get those Duos back. Maybe they will be able to offer FW soon after all?
You might want to ask where in the building the deluxe is. There's a few very sweet locations for the duos. And some not so great locations for deluxe standard view.

I’m not sure I understand the “incentives are only good for a week” tactic. They are pretty bad to begin with and are not enticing me one way or another to be honest.
Either way, I’ll be calling tomorrow to confirm what I want but very specifically explaining I don’t want anything signed or dated until Monday 10/7… for the reasons we all know.

When DVC guides start saying things like this--which apply pressure--I suspect that it's because sales targets aren't being met. I somehow suspect that over at the DVD offices, over the past couple months, there's been a lot of talk like "these rooms will sell themselves."

So I'd love someone to ask a guide the following questions--
(1) how are Poly sales going?
the guide, almost surely, will say something like "great" or "very good."
(2) As sales are "great," when is the next block of rooms being moved into DVC inventory from the Developer's (or the Cash) inventory?
And that is the answer I'd love to hear. Because if sales are "great," rooms are moving inventory, but if rooms aren't moving, that suggests that maybe sales aren't great.

I have been laughing for years that they won’t even give you lids with your darn sodas anymore but all of the souvenirs have become completely disposable. I bought 3 cups on my last trip to WDW and none of them made it 6 months. The t-shirts don’t fare any better. They sell pretty things destined to become garbage and then lecture us for creating actually useful waste. ☹️

Don’t get me started on this topic I could go on for pages of posts packed to the character limit.
I bring my own plastic straws!

Saw the preview center room today. One studio, one one-bedroom. They're nice, but also on the small side. Except for the view (some of which should be spectacular), I much prefer the current studios. But that's a personal preference. To each their own. What Poly needs are new room layouts other than studios, as Poly has a lot of those already--but oddly there's a lot of studios now in the Tower. That, however, is a different discussion. But the absolute bonkers moment of the tour was when the guide made a point about how the studios even have dishwashers because of Disney's focus on limiting waste. And then three minutes later, once the tour was over, without irony, she handed everyone world's cheapest backpacks, as "gifts," in giant ziplock bags that 90% of the people will simply throw away, likely before leaving Orlando. "So remember: DVC is committed to limiting unnecessary waste, and here now are some unnecessary things for all of you to throw away."

Outside of that--one more observation--I heard two other groups talking about the lack of Poly incentives, specifically why MB is available still for Riv and the Cabins, not Poly. So, as other posters suggested, I do think that there is a group of DVC owners who may be more emotionally swayed. That's probably true. But also there's a group out there who is looking at this from a reasonable financial perspective as well. It's not just us.

I think Disney knows what they are offering on poly. Poly will hold better value than cabins or riviera will due to the resale restrictions limiting the resale owner to stay only at that resort. Inherently resale is going to be cheaper for riviera and cabins than for poly. I think someone’s probably trying to test some math out to see what people are willing to pay for poly before they raise prices come 2025.

Does anyone know, if I buy December UY will I receive 2023 & 2024 points?

Am considering a small direct add on, but would only want to do it if I get 2 years of points.

Would this be the same at any other resort? Or is Poly special?

They might, but Poly as SAP+ points is an expensive proposition... Honestly I think VGF and VGC should have been the high water mark - and they included a generous supply of standard views.

As someone who typically books 1 & 2 BR rooms, when I see the makeup of the resort, I am apprehensive that there will be enough 1 or 2 BR rooms for me to book easily... And particularly if I buy say a week worth of 2 BR points - that's a lot to buy hoping I can guarantee my week.

My suggestion to Poly buyers would be to see if they can get a favorite week - I think they may realize it is worth the premium to be locked into that inventory.

No. They are only selling deeds to the new tower which means everyone starts with 2024 points.

Other resorts would get you 2023 points because they existed in 2023.

The weird thing I see is that if you have a February use year (or anything before December), you get points as soon as you sign the contract. But you aren’t paying dues on them except for the last 2 weeks. So, if you used those points to book, say, Saratoga, in November… and then sold your contract in December, you’d never really pay full dues.

No matter the UY, the points sold deeded to PVB tower can’t be used until the units open on December 17th.

So, all these new points won’t hit the system until December 17th and beyond.

Reason is that the points represent ownership and until your unit is open for occupancy, your points don’t yet exist for use

That is why all owners will be paying just 2 weeks of dues for 2024.

Being part of PVB doesn’t change that either because it’s about the 1:1 ratio of units to points.

Now, if they sold some points deeded to the longhouses or bungalows, those would be available for immediate use.

Bit, they are only selling deeds to the new tower which is what they did to BPK. Once the units open, then it’s all the same use rules.

So what's the deal with this "offer" only being good for a week? Or until the 15th? I did read @Sandisw that incentives could be pulled at any time, like limiting OKW at 299 after they sold way more than expected, but is this in any way confirmed that it's actually happening versus a high-pressure sales tactic?

We're probably out for direct at these prices, but we were mulling over buying the 150x2 on December 1st so we'd have the 10-day recission in case the new incentives were better 10/12. I don't like the idea of a gun to the head for shelling out major cash in under a week under pressure.

This is not the first time it has come up…guides have said it to buyers for years. I can only guarantee you this price for 7 days. Not everyone has heard it, but nonetheless, reports have been shared of guides giving buyers that deadline.

Why? Because DVD makes it clear that the offer can be modified at any time. So, by alerting buyers of that, they are covered.

Now, if DVD doesn’t amend the incentives and they don’t very often, buyers will still be eligible….but since guides are not always given a head up that things will change, this simply alerts the buyer.

Again, if you go beyond that 7 days, and went back and DVD changed things, you won’t be surprised. Having said that, I don’t think anyone should worry too much because it’s not something that happens regularly.

The “why?” Is also so that guides can create FOMO. DVC can try to dress it up as much as they can but at the end of the day guides are still timeshare salespeople, with everything that comes with.

The odds of this promotion ending in 7 days without the same or better promotion being announced are roughly the same as being struck by lightning and winning the powerball in the same day.

Guides are always given a heads up. Sharing that you may only have 7 days is a pressure tactic common in the traditional timeshare world.
