Yes, fitting a double stroller in a longhouse elevator is brutal! I guess they didn’t have double wide jogging strollers in the 70s?

Only been in Moorea but there were two elevators, one facing the entrance and one to the side. Side one was plenty big, that not the case in other two longhouses? Main elevator was indeeed tiny though.

Even more annoyed they are only 4 now. It looks way smaller in the pics and video.

So 6 sq ft smaller than RIV? That photo seems much smaller - I wonder if they are using a “ gentleman’s “ measuring tape…..

I got these numbers from my guide:

Tower Duo: 293 sq ft​

Tower Studio: 417 sq ft​

Tower 1-bedroom: 834 sq ft​

Tower 2-bedroom: 1252 sq ft​

Tower 2-bedroom penthouse: 1448 sq ft​

• Tower Duo is 38 sq ft larger than RIV duo (255). Only 23 sq ft smaller than AKV (316) value studio???
• Tower Studio is third largest at WDW (4th largest DVC studio). 6 sq ft smaller than RIV. Only sleeps 4 with all that space, where did the extra space go? (Dishwasher would only use a tiny portion)
• Tower 1BR becomes the third largest at WDW behind OKW (942) and VGF (844). 21 larger than the next closest RIV.
• Tower 2BR becomes that second largest at WDW behind only OKW (1395). Next closest is RIV (1246) and VGF (1232).

It is wild how different the Riv 1 bedroom and Tower 1 bedroom look in size. I guess that extra bathroom takes up a ton of space. (And same with the studios!)

Maybe the lens really just distorts things...I'll wait for someone to come in and take measurements.

Those sizes make me think the tower duo would work extremely well for our F&W/MNSSHP trips. Save points, longer trips...we're not in the rooms other than sleeping and naps from over eating.

October Duo studio SV week for 130 points. Buy a FW for 143 points to guarantee the room.
September duo studio SV week? 88 points for the week. FW for 97 points?
DW birthday is May, duo studio SV first half of May for 102 points for the week. 113 points for a FW?

Thx!! There is a banquette/table seating area in the Tower Studio that I think should have been used as the small fold-down bunk area as in other Studios for 5th person. They must have had restrictions on maybe occupancy numbers? Or just made a silly decision?

What happens to Lagoon ressies after Tower opens & those room locations are thrown into P (Premium) which may not be current Lagoon view rooms?

It’s just a reclassification of the name of view which DVC can do at anytime.

Plus, they are still the same rooms.

I mean… with those theme park view villas… they have the best view of any DVC villa…

Astro, I'm anxious to see what those will look like from the top floors.

BLT higher floors have some great views with higher meaning less of the parking lot to see. While not always the best during the day, at night BLT views are awesome. Poly Tower will add some good competition and a second high tower view into MK (water instead of parking lot). Can't wait to see the pics!

Yea, I'm thinking BLT TP view might be pretty nice too, I don't think I'll ever pay for that view, but I would imagine being even closer to the park could be just as good if not better... although looking over parking instead of a lake might change things.

RIV will be the bargain on the epcot side

I have started to wonder about that... I'm not the biggest fan of RIV (or restricted resorts), but in 15 years it may be "The One" to own for Epcot area. But who knows, maybe they will have announced BWV/BCV extensions or new contracts details, or even Yacht Club DVC by then. So i'll just cross my fingers for a decade.

Only trouble is they don’t do fixed weeks which are less than 100 points, so you can’t get a duo for September.

IMO they way over-charge for the views, not just at Poly Tower but everywhere. I guess they know they will book them all, especially once all the standard views book out.

Yep, i think Longhouses are Standard or Preferred, Premium refers to Tower. Just not sure if ALL Preferred are pool, or lake or what, i would think they could make some changes if they wanted to switch some of the categories?

However...

Amy & @pkrieger2287 had mentioned on the DVC Show about the fine print shown at the bottom of the new point charts.

"Standard view includes other areas of the resort, such as gardens or parking areas. Preferred view includes at least a partial view of lakes, pools, or golf course. Premium view includes at least partial views of the Seven Seas Lagoon. Theme Park view includes at least a partial view of Magic Kingdom Park."

There are currently 288 "Standard" and 72 "Lake" view longhouses.

Could they switch some of the standard view from Tokelau that face the pool or MK to Preferred?

Room 3908 has a view of the castle and you can see an obstructed view of the lake.

I don't know if they would do that but it certainly sounds like they could which would reduce the amount of standard studios a little bit making it ever so slightly harder to get into a longhouse at the 7 month window.
