Wow, they didn't even take the site down for maintenance. Can any PBV owner see the booking tools online?

According to the DVC Facebook page, they will start booking on the phone and online tomorrow.
Online booking starts at 9am eastern time.

This should put to rest the concept of phone only reservations. At least for members who added on at PVB.

I don't see mention of online reservations on the 11th. If true probably too much of a programming issue for DVC to deal with allowing only Poly members to book since bookings right now are within 7 months for many of the dates obviously.

This is from the DVC facebook page
Are you a Member who has recently added-on at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows? Friendly reminder that you can make Resort reservations begin tomorrow at 9 a.m. ET by calling Member Services.

Didn't they do that for VGF when it opened? I could have sworn I booked online... that was even worse programming-wise because members got 4m advantage until Jan the next year... something along those lines.

I'm sure I'm not the only one checking the online site just in case... but the booking section appears to be offline entirely. Can't even look at the details of upcoming trips at the moment. Is that normal pre-8 am?

Very excited! Super short wait. We are "splurging" and getting a bungalow for 3 nights in September right after Labor Day (cheapest season). Bringing other family who really deserve a celebration.

Pretty much planning on spending at least one whole day doing nothing but lounging around the splash pool, imbibing at Trader Sam's, and checking out the new volcano. :beach:

Just got off the phone with member services! Have the Polynesian villas booked in a lake view for May 13 - 16! I called at 6:59 and pressed 1 right at 7 and had a 2 minute wait. The cast member booking the reservation said I was the first one to book of the day!

Glad someone had a good experience, I called at 8 AM (CST) and just now at 8:30 I am finally on hold, 25 mins approx wait time. Had to dial the # about 35 times (and 35 busy signals), had 2 times that I received the prompts, then it rung a few times, silence, then more busy signals. This is my first time calling on a FIRST day for booking, all I can say is WOW.

I am trying to get Marathon week...

I've had the exact same experience. Finally got through at 8.25 with a forty minute wait time. I knew it would be difficult but I didn't think it would be this bad.

I called right at 9am and the toll free number rang a very long time before I got connected to the phone menu. The recording said my wait time would be 11 minutes, but it was about 15, which was still not bad. We only have a little 50 point add on, so I just booked one night standard view for 20 points on Sat., Oct. 10 for the F & W Festival. We only live a couple of hours away, so it is easy for us to drive down for a weekend night. It will be great to be able to walk to the EPCOT monorail. I checked the Tikiman pages for building locations and ended up requesting the Tokoleau building (I know I am spelling that wrong :-)), courtyard view, just to avoid a parking lot view from Pago Pago. I think all 3 of the DVC buildings will be open in July sometime. We'll probably just walk down to the beach to see the fireworks. It's always fun to try something new!

As someone who has gotten LOST in the Disney phone queue more then once I have a couple of suggestions

1. If you have two phones USE them.
2. If one of them is a cell with free long distance call the 407 #

For the first DVC Member Cruise I called on one line... after an hour on hold I called on line two. 15 minutes later line two was talking to an agent. Booked etc,... line one still on hold. I sent DVC a message and got "we don't control the phone system" Same type of thing has happened when booking Food and Wine events!

I was in their system right at 8am, but had long delays where it would not play prompts. After awhile, I hung up and called back.
Then, it rang and rang without answer. This usually happens if they system doesn't have enough telephone resources in the call center system.
Went through similar problems for a few more minutes. Finally decided to just wait when the prompts were not playing. Eventually, the prompts played.

Made it to the transfer to the other system for booking. Then, everything worked better.
Was told 35 minute wait, but it was 25-30 minutes. Person who handled my call was very good. As usual, their computer systems were a bit slow and there are a few things that are not working, so he said to call back another time. He was letting his manager know about the issue we encountered.

I think a few things made today easier than VGF's reported 1 hour wait times.
  • PVB not having 1BR or reasonable points for the 2BR option, resulted in several people deciding not to add-on.
  • I believe VGF had 2 months of sales before they opened up the booking, while PVB was rushed with 1 month.
  • Also, people report they still can't sell to CA and NY.
  • VGF didn't have the main pool under construction at the time of sales. PVB has the main pool under construction and the secondary pool will go through a significant change once that is completed.
Did anyone think of asking how connecting studios are being booked?

Lake view reservation booked. Now we wait until the nightmare Feb 25th to try to change another reservation to PVB so we aren't doing a split stay.

Well 25 mins was very accurate got through, had a great CM, was very helpful. Was able to get my booking from 01/03-01/11 SV Poly studio, and then 4 additional nights at WLV. Excited to stay there and have only one short monorail ride to the start line for Marathon weekend next year!

Hey, did anyone in the 7 month window ask if non-Poly points could be used for booking? Just curious. I hadn't thought about doing that, but could call back sometime in the next few days and see if it's possible to swap some out. Did do some borrowing already though from Poly points.
