Putting together a Disneyland package

Long story short, I've been to WDW twice, but never to Disneyland California. I'm in the Air Force Reserve in Pennsylvania and the person going with me is a Southern California resident. Would Disney give me the free "Stars and Stripes" ticket or do you have to be active-duty to get it?

In the long run, would it be better to have her buy two Southern California tickets with her ID or would that backfire since I'm not a S-CA resident? Just looking for the best deal here. Thanks a lot!

I believe you have to be activated or on active duty to qualify for the military ticket but it's definitely worth calling the park and asking. A free ticket for 5 minutes on the phone would be a great outcome, 5 minutes wasted wouldn't be the end of the world.

As far as your friend buying two s-cal tickets she certainly can and you certainly could use them. Does that make it on the up & up? No but as a resident they'll let her buy up to 8 tickets. The terms do say that "proof of residency required for admission" but I've never seen them check at the gate -- just the ticket window. Regardless of the ethics it's a very common practice and you see people doing it all the time.

What you do is of course up to you but I'd start with the military discount and see if you qualify for that.

Okay, I'll call that number and see what they have to say about military tickets. If it's a no-go, then I can have her order the tickets from Disneyland.com or something like that. Worst case scenario, she buys the SoCal tickets, and when we go to the park, all I have is my military ID. That might work. Thanks.

The number told me to call my local travel/MWR office and I think that he's on vacation. No big rush, though.
