So there have been a few posts about this.... this week. I said I was gonna do it (put it ont he shed...which is hard to get to). And I forgot. I said it again, and once again, I forgot. BUt thanks to RJUDY..........she called me on it......lol.
And as I anwsered her post ....thats right , right in the middle of anwseringher, I ran out to the shed in the freezing cold with no shoes and threw it in there.........
I may have broke it when I did it but.............
IT FELT LIBERATING!!!!!!

So for those of you have been talking aout the O mighty scale this week.............get rid of it!
A few minutes before this post I began to miss it and then I went to my journal and read it and was happy I did so.
I'll make a trip out to the old shed next Tuesday. that will make one week. thats reasonable right?
Now if I can get get past the scale at the gym! lol

I wouldn;t weigh after workout may to heavier but if I could just get past it as I walk in...........I think I can.
till then

I'm with you Renee,

It was much harder than I thought it would be. Hang in there!

You can do it Renee. Avoiding the scale is very liberating!

can you talk me into it? I really think I want to get it out of my sight - but I just can't! I honestly think I do better if I weigh my self more than once a week. I try to look at both sides of the situation and I am convinced that I "need" it to make me stay on track. When I am up, then I say "be good, really good today" and when I am down I say " good job - stay on-plan today -cause I'm down".

I am thinking if I don't have that to rely on, then when I am up at WI - I would probably just "chuck it" because I would say "why bother - I have been good and I'm not losing"

IF you were to search through threads about scales, you would see that I WAS always the person who says they are good! they keep me on track. I took my scale on vacation with me. I thought that my scale would keep my in check, I was wrong!

I had the weirdest weight gain/loss last week and thats when I realized this scale was dictating my life and I depended on it, the scale would actually make my decision as to whether it was gonna be a good or bad for me! I swear!
Last week on Wednesday ( the day TOM came to visit) I weighed myself and was happy to see I had weighed 162 even with TOM ( the frist day is always my most bloating day). I thought wow! I must be at least 160 without TOM.....WRONG! I stuck to plan until the weAkend...bad dinner on saturday and went to atlantic city sunday ( bad whole day) so I cheated big deal. I got home sunday night and weighed in I was 170!!!!

Well........I couldnt believe my eyes! and really wanted to throw in the towel. I was so depressed the following day, I stayed onplan and literally forced myself to go to the gym. There I talked with a few people and got back in mode. Anyway, thats when I started my "throw away the scale crusade".

I swore to do it and someone called me on it and asked me simply "did you really get rid of the scale"? ( check my journal "renees daily journal", and you'll read hw it all happened lol). I did get the scale out of the house that very moment.

So it's been about 2/3 days since I have weighed myself, and believe me it was hard at first, I would weigh myself about 3/4 times adays. But today was easier and tomorrow will be once again even easier. lol.

Now I sit here, and I am actually pushing my date further away when I will weigh myself next because, I am excited about it! I hoping the next time I do it, I will be in the next bracket ( the 150's).

Grammy, JUST DO IT!

Good for you. Another liberated woman. I personally hate the scale. It scares me to death. I avoid it whenever possible. I am so proud of you both. We can do this all together.:grouphug: Until next time...
