I'm reading an article on CNN and I don't know what the heck this sentence is trying to say (bolded):

The problem is the CEO of Beachbody, the company behind P90X and Insanity, doesn't like to work out. So much so that he sometimes has to "trick" himself into the gym. Like the time he decided he couldn't brush his teeth before he worked out for at least 10 minutes. That little ploy inspired Beachbody's 10-Minute Trainer program.

Help me get this dunce cap off. Thanks. :thumbsup2

Ok, I'm going to leave it here for all to see but DUH! OMG, I can't believe my mind couldn't comprehend what was being said.

I got it now.

Brushing his teeth is top priority, so before doing this he must work out. Forces him to work out, because he must brush his teeth.

ETA - April fools'??

To your defense, its a horribly worded sentence. the writer should have said. He has to trick himself into going to the gym, like the time.............
