Putting kids jammies on in Park?

Oh I wonder if that is a difference between Disney World and Disneyland. I've only ever been inside the WDW ones and assumed they had a similar set up at DL. I almost remember the WDW one (Epcot) had a bathroom and even online they list that the changing area has a unisex bathroom. I just imagined since the private nursing room is suppose to be separate from the changing/bathroom area that a 6 year old really should be disturbing a nursing pair. I do see there is a big difference in description when looking at WDW versus DL baby/lost child areas.

The nursing area is still separate from the changing area. When you walk into the carE center on MS, there's a small vestibule area with adult size sofas on each wall, followed by an area with small tables and chairs with a TV. To the right of that you can see the private nursing areas walled off (not quite floor to ceiling, but you can't see in). You walk past all of the nursing areas to the back and turn right into a different room with the diaper changing tables and the small toilets. There's a small feeding area with high chairs in the main room, behind where the small tables and chairs are on the left hand side of the room.

My point was that 6-yrs old is too old to use the Baby Care center when you don't need it with a BABY. If the kids are 4 and 6 they have no business in the Baby Care center unless they had a special need - which isn't a changing room. I didn't tell the story to shorten the reply but when I was a nursing mom I had someone bring their kids in to use the bathrooms and hang out to escape the heat and it was extremely irritating.

If 5 stalls are open, one allowing me space to turn around, then I'm using the big one. I have never seen a person with a wheelchair waiting for a bathroom, but if I did I would direct them in front of me, as I would a heavily pregnant person or someone with more small kids than me doing a potty dance. Sorry you had a bad experience with your daughter. Don't assume everybody else is an ****** though.

That was kinda mean. Everyone has different experiences in life, she was just relating her personal one where she experienced selfish people. Of course people will allow the handicapped person first access to the bathroom - but I have also seen mother's take their time in that stall while others are waiting. It's relative.

The have the short potties in there for a reason. The care center isn't just for babies, or there would be no need for the short toilets. Babies certainly aren't using those. My daughter is small for her age. I'm sure she'll still qualify, height wise, to use those potties at age 4. I don't think that is inappropriate at all.

Using the care centers as a way to escape the heat with older children? Yes, I agree that isn't what they are for. Quickly changing a young child's clothes? Personally, I would not be offended at all by that.

If you happen to been in DCA, stopping off in the Grand Californian has nice areas to handle such stuff.
Locker areas, care centers, and restrooms are above average in accommodating such items.

If you get caught out, feel free to ask Cast Members to the closest place to handle such stuff,

As a mother who nursed my children and used the baby care centers frequently, this isn't true. Babies don't use small potties, at least not many babies. Children are welcomed into the center- not just babies. Otherwise, they wouldn't be allowed in. I have a 4 and 6 year old, and we were just at DCA. I took them to the Baby care center to get changed from costumes into warm clothes and we were very kindly welcomed in when I explained our purpose there.

All baby care centers are also the lost child area so they are not just for babies and infants. The standard "rule" was children up to 7 go to the baby care center since there is age appropriate activities there including a play room and children over 7 go to guest services but online says all children should be taken to the baby care center if they are found by a cast member.

Wow. My 3 year old is still in diapers. Not sure how she doesn't qualify to use any diaper changing facilities Disney has. Also not sure how any small child doesn't qualify to use the small toilets. Disney is the one giving a 42" height limit, not me. DD is barely 38" I'm sure thereally are 4 and 5 year olds who don't hit 42", if they are small for their age. Infants aren't using those toilets, so clearly the baby care center is for more than just babies.

You seem to want to make this something offensive, and I just don't understand that.

Already have been. It's a wonderful perk DL has for families, and I encourage more people to use it for their kids as needed. Not sure why it's such a touchy topic to you....

I the internet. Topic totally morphed. I definitely never meant to be mean or even controversial, I try to read all comments in a nice voice and assume that negativity is the exception versus the rule. No one on the boards is likely to be a handicapped stall hogging, baby care center intruder, and if they are they probably are just clueless and won't change. I like DIS because in general people are nicer than other chat boards.
Update- the 5 yo told me he'd stay up, not interested in jammies. I personally would not walk to front of park to use the baby center to change. If I was using it, I would not let my kids intrude or be loud around nursing mamas, no one likes nip-lash. My only plan to check them out would if big kids are on a ride with dad and me and 1 year old are bored.
