How do you go about making a room request, or in the case of CSR, a request for either Casitas, Cabanas or Ranchos?

Also can you do it when only having down a deposit on your package?

usually about a week before your arrival date is when ppl put in their room requests. doing it any sooner than that just doesnt pay off to be honest. I usually fax my requests and theyre usually granted. you can google the fax number, but they should have it on allears.net.

I thought I read on here somewhere that they are no longer taking fax requests, maybe it was some misinformation?

If you do online check-in, you can make a request then. Last time I was able to put in 2 request when I went in March. I asked for the '80s section and a first Floor room at Pop, and was given both.

Yep, the faxes go in the trash these days. To add a request to your reservation, call 407-W-DISNEY. Requests can be added at the time of your reservation, or any time after that.

You can call CRO anytime to have them add a room request. I usually just have them add my room requests while I'm booking, but have called back and have them add one. I then call back about a week before arrival to make sure it is still listed on there.

We were just at CSR May 5th-12th. I had the CM add my room request ('first floor Cabanas, with a preference for Cabanas 8A') at the time I made the reservation. I then called about ten days out to make sure it was still there. It was. I then did online check in. The online check in allows you to check like first floor and close to transportation and for CSR it also allows you to check Casitas, Ranchos, or Cabanas. I checked first floor and Cabanas. When we checked in, we had been placed in a second floor room in Ranchos 6A. We politely asked to be moved somewhere in the Cabanas, but was told they could not move us until the next morning. We spent that first night in Ranchos 6A and then went over early the next morning and asked to be moved to anywhere in the Cabanas. The nice CM couldn't get us into 8A but did get us a very nice first floor room in Cabanas 8B. This was my tenth time at CSR. My requests have always been the same 'first floor Cabanas with a preference for Cabanas 8A'. I've been in Casitas 1, Casitas 2 (but moved the next day to Cabanas 8A), Cabanas 9B (three times), Cabanas 9A (twice), Ranchos 6A (but moved the next day to Cabanas 8B), and Cabanas 8A twice).

Mind you the last time I went was 2005. I always put in my request at the time of the booking. Then a few days before arrival, I confirm my ressies and I make sure that my request is on there and always are. And most of my requests are granted. I know it's not a guarantee, but I have been lucky.

DH called and requested a location at OKW and the CM he spoke to took all the details. We only have the deposit down as well. We were reminded that this was only a request and to mention it when we check in. We had no problems with this last year.

I am going to call in the week before we go just to make sure they have the info.

DH has knee problems not bad enough to need an ECV but as we won't have a car he will need to be in reasonable walking distance of the main hub.
