I recently came back from my Disney trip and we stayed off site from the 14-21 May. This included the week-end and also 2 Grad nights on the Friday and Saturday.

IMO, I thought that the Friday was quite busy and even during the day I felt like it was busier than I expected. We dd not enter the Parks on Saturday as we did Uni.

Previously we have traveled in May ( pre- carsland ) and in late September.

If anybody was down there during my dates and is a regular would you consider that normal crowds, busier than usual or slow?

I did find that in the AM the crowds were naturally less but on our MM there was easily a 30 minute wait for Matterhorn but hey, otherwise it was probably an hour and it was so hot there is no way we were going to wait that long. That being said, I probably won't wait again because the ride just wasn't that great. I think I still have bruises on my ankles. :(
We did luck out on Thursday and managed to grab 2, count them 2 FP for Carsland. One at about 9:30 and on a chance I tried again at about 12 and there were still FPs available! I was shocked.

I'm trying to get a perspective for future trips, possibly during a peak time and I would like to gauge what to expect crowd wise.

Thanks in advance!

Just from reading reports on here, it seems like a lot of people felt like crowds were higher than normal/expected this month. Some speculated that the amount of rides down for refurbishment may have played a factor in how crowded it felt. Also some have said that crowds have really gone up year round.

I went the last week of May just before Carsland opened and I felt that week wasn't as light crowd-wise as I expected.

We were there on Monday (May 19) for one day only. We have made 3 previous trips during the same week over the past 10 years. DCA was bearable (except for RSR - 30 minute wait in the single rider line) but the crowds in DL were hideous by late afternoon. I'm guessing ride closures are part of the problem. Hordes of people were just milling around Adventureland for hours hoping to get on Indy - it was apparently up and down constantly all day. We were lucky enough to ride it as we had a "super-magic fast past" to use after having been trapped at the top of Micky's Fun Wheel for 20 minutes during a breakdown earlier in the day over at DCL.
