Pushing Daisies -- Tonight!!! FINALLY!!

6 more minutes!

Pushing Daisies just might turn out to be my favorite show (right behind Lost!)

I loved what I saw of it last year.

This line cracked me up! :lmao: (highlight to read)

"Hey you don't get to just put them pictures in my head. That's an assault on my imagination!"

I loved "You pruned his pie!"

OK....anyone want to refresh my memory? Last time we left off Chuck was heading off with the "sewer man". DD says that Chuck came back to the Pie Maker.

I can't remember what happened. There was no mention of the ending last season. :headache:

Doesn't ABC still have all the first season available for viewing online?

Last season, I would always watch them in my kitchen on the laptop while doing dishes if I'd missed the episode, cuz I couldn't even wait an hour until I was done with household stuff to watch my TIVO! :rotfl:

Yea, that was a good episode. I love that they're involving you-know-who's mother. (trying to avoid spoiling)

We must have missed an episode or two last season--I think with the writers' strike and all.

Glad to see the show is as quirky as ever, although I think the whole Chuck and Ned not touching thing gets old. Maybe that's why the writers moved her next door? The whole convent thing had me in stitches. However, my favorite character is Chi McBride--after seeing him in so many "serious" roles, he makes a great straight man! And he has all the best lines. And goofiest clothes. I just smile whenever he's on camera because he adds such a nice touch of cynical humor. It keeps the show from getting sappy.

Lee Pace

I loved how he gave the temp "the scoots" :rotfl2:

This show has some INCREDIBLE writers!!!!!!!!

Chi McBride did my favorite line from last night, but the guy who used to always crack me up last season was the guy at the morgue! :rotfl: I'm looking forward to some more funnies from him.

Unfortunate news, folks. Pushing Daisies did not do well in the ratings last night. :(

I love this show!

I liked last night's episode, but I don't think it was one of my favorites. It started kind of slow.

But isn't this a new timeslot? I thought it was.... maybe people aren't aware yet- I've always thought the PR for this show was terrible- just not enough!

My other fave from last year, "Back To You", I'm pretty sure was also a failure of PR. Unfortuneately, that one didn't return for a 2nd season. At least if PD doesn't make it all the way, we can get 2 seasons on DVD!

Nope.... it has always been Wednesday 8PM:

The PR hasn't been any better or worse than a typical new show with middling ratings.

Back to You actually was a show that got a lot of PR (by comparison to Pushing Daisies) -- much more than the average. I think Back to You got killed for two reasons: (1) Its performance wasn't commensurate with how much extra PR it was given [so be careful what you ask for -- if Pushing Daisies got special treatment, it would be expected to provide substantially better returns, quickly]; and (2) Kelsey Grammar, James Burrows, Steve Levitan, and Christopher Lloyd (the four executive producers) were being paid incredible sums of money [which also bumps up the expectations for better ratings for a show]. (By the way, Christopher Lloyd is not the guy who was in Taxi and Back to the Future.)

Tell your friends! The show is not doing well in the ratings, and is therefore in danger.

Programming notes: Three more episodes this month, but then the show is pre-empted for two weeks in early November: November 4 by a special episode of DWTS, and November 18 by the CMA Awards.

I almost tuned it out myself. The sound was terrible. I could not make out the dialog because the "background" music was so loud.

See, THAT's the kind of crap that kills shows. Preempted for 2 weeks because of a stupid awards show, and and an even dumber dancing show?? Viewers wander off and forget to come back. Way to go, ABC.

Both of those shows will garner far more viewers than Pushing Daisies. We cannot legitimately complain about networks doing this if we're not willing to watch the show being pre-empted in consistently higher numbers. When we point a finger at the networks, at least three fingers are pointed back at us (collectively) (and the other one perhaps pointed up, being pointed at fate I suppose).

Last year they had Pee Wee Herman guest star and the word was that Molly Shannon would guest star too. That didn't work out due to the writer's strike and now she's got her own show.

What happened to Pee Wee Herman? Wasn't his character supposed to come back again?

I think this is the end for this show. I'm sad about it, but they need to do something dramatic with it to gain interest again. I think it's time for the aunts to find out Chuck is alive. Or for another main character to die and be brought back.

The writers strike killed this would be hit. It ruined the momentum.
