Pushchairs

My DD will be almost 5 when we visit DLRP, but as there is sooo much to do and see there and it involves alot of walking I was wondering about taking a foldaway pushchair with me for when she gets tired. I know you can hire these in the Parks, but would it be easier for me to bring my own as I'm guessing you can't take them out of the Parks to walk back to your hotel? What happens to it when you are on the rides? Would it be safe?

You cant take the Disney ones out of the park so if you wanted to use it back to the hotel your own would be best.

Outside every ride there is a little area to park the buggy before going onto the ride - there is no problem. Just make you dont leave any valuables on the buggy

You may come out of some rides and maybe not find your buggy where you left it - nothing to be alarmed about as the Cast Members sometimes try and tidy them up a bit if there is a lot in one area. We tied a red ribbon to the handle so we could spot it easily

When we go my son will be nearly 3 and we will be taking a pushchair along. Even if he manages to keep going around the parks all day, which I doubt, I think it will be invaluable for our walk back to the Santa Fe with a very tired little boy.

I am pretty sure that you can take them our of the park but you need to leave a deposit with them to do this.

When I have seen people with push chairs at WDW you basically dump it with the rest of them somewhere near the entrance and make sure to leave nothing valuable with it.

We have a 3 year old son and we went last november with our 5 year old neice for 5 days. We did monday to friday and by the wednesday both of the children were finding it quite nice to have a the buggy to just have a sit in for half an hour every so often to recharge. So personally i would recommend you take you own if you have the space.

With regards to the ones you can hire, im sure they have to stay in the parks have never seen anyone pushing them around in the disney village or any of the hotels.

I am pretty sure that you can take them our of the park but you need to leave a deposit with them to do this.

That's right you can take them out. I could be wrong, but I think it is something like a €150-200 returnable deposit along with the day hire charge for how long you want to book it for

We always took our own and left it outside the rides with no problems we just had a light weight cheap one(car boot ) and it was great on a night for my dd to sit in when waiting for parades and fireworks (she was 5)

I took my own and will again.
Just park it outside the specified buggy area as i didnt once and was alarmed when i came off a ride and couldnt find it, only to find the CM had moved it to the buggy bay

Definately would recommend taking one as the little ones can recharge batteries and also if you need to make a mad dash somewhere else in the park you can get there quicker lol

I looked into this the other day as we are going for 5 nights and ours have been out of pushchairs for a while so we passed them on, but thought it would be good to have them for disney. This site is very useful...


I worked out that a) cost wise at 13 euros for 2 per day b) being able to take them everywhere, we were better off buying cheap ones to take...Argos have a BRILLIANT pushchair in blue for £30 and the pink is £20 reduced at the moment. They are really sturdy, pretty light and come with an over the shoulder handle to carry around when not in use!!

So I'd say take your own, even if you don't need/want it during the day, if it's there someone can always pop back to the hotel and get it.

i agree

my youngest son was 5 when we went last july,and was so hyped / excited all day that there was NO way he would have sat in a buggy during the day!

the only time he got tired ( bearing in mind we were pretty much non stop since 7am!) was on the way back to the car ,when candleabration had finished !!

he went on daddys shoulders instead lol

my SIL took my nieces last yr too,when they were just turned 6 and nearly 5 and hired buggys for them both

There are lockers at the entrance but they haven't been in use for years. There is Guest Storage just to the right of the ticket booths before you enter the park. They will store items for €2.50 each (up to 3 items free if you have a Dream AP). I am sure they would store a folded-up umbrella buggy ~ it will take up less room than a suitcase, so I am sure it won't be a problem.
