This is probably a stupid question but believe it or not I can't find this info by googling...lol

Which muscles are engaged when you do push ups? I was thinking most, bi-tri, back and chest? Is that right? Am I missing any?

Thanks

Kim

The main muscle group that is engaged should be the chest. I say should because it is easy to allow other muscle groups to do the work (i.e. shoulders, bis tris). Your entire core should be activated while performing push-ups.

Depending on how you place your hands, you can use more tricep and less chest. Put them in close and keep your elbows tight to the body to use more tricep.
