Pure speculation - will ABD organize trips to non-US parks?

In listening to Pete talk about the upcoming ABD trip to London, Paris, and Disneyland Paris, I'm wondering if anyone thinks that ABD will start organizing trips to Disney's theme parks in Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and eventually Shanghai.

I heard someone on the email podcast this week talking about how she'd love to see trips like that, and I must agree with her! :thumbsup2 I've made it one of my goals to visit every Disney theme park at some point in my life, but visiting all the parks in Asia seems a bit intimidating because it's such a foreign region of the world to me. Plus, I'm a little concerned about how much it would cost, so I think it'd be nice to go on an ABD trip that, while I'm sure would not be cheap, would at least be a fixed price so I'd have a pretty good idea of how much it would cost (minus some meals, airfare, and souvenirs). I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way, so I'm just curious if anyone has thoughts on whether Disney will expand ABD to do trips like that?

I've never been on an ABD trip and the only thing I know about them is what I've heard on the podcast, so I'm interested in hearing from some people who know more about ABD and how it's expanded over the years.

Well, my opinion is, you'll see the Disneyland Paris add-on that they developed just for DU show up next year as a part of a "Signature" version of the Knights & Lights trip.

I know a lot of people have been wanting an ABD to Japan, so I could totally see them including Tokyo Disney if they did. I think, though, that the international Disney Parks aren't actually run by Disney; that they are run by more "local" companies, and licensed by Disney. It's my understanding that that was one of the reasons it took so long for John & Pete to come up with the details for the add-on to the London/Paris ABD, because ABD had to deal with and make arrangements through another company. I could be totally wrong about that, but I thought that's what I heard at one point.

I would imagine that if the need is there, this could potentially happen. I'd love to do it myself one day!

I don't know why you would need an ABD trip to visit the Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Paris or Hong Kong Disneyland. With a little research done online, you could easily plan a trip to any of those destinations. I know I've done it a few times (except for HKDL).

The language issue isn't really that big a deal. Even at the TDR, a lot of the signs were in English and Japanese, and many people spoke English - or made themselves understood. No flash photography seems to be understood universally. LOL

You don't *need* an ABD trip to visit the parks. But *having* an ABD trip is the VIP way to go! Bypass lines, VIP tours & backstage access, included character meals or stuff like that. That's what makes going with ABD worthwhile!

That's one reason I signed up for the DU ABD Knights & Lights tour. We're going to see Disneyland Paris in style!
