Purchasing Packages through Disney or through another travel company?

Hello,
In the past we've always just purchased our package through the Disney Company itself. I'm wondering if we might save a little money by purchasing through another travel company or if it's just easier if we just purchase like we've always done?

Would be happy for any input or suggestions or if you've had great success with a certain company, please let me know. We are planning on going this December.

AAA saved me significant $$ on my room fee, and Disney was unable to offer anything comparable.

Another question.....has anyone used www.getawaytoday.com? If so, how was it? Good? Bad?

We are doing three days at DL in October. It was $126 cheaper to book on my own vs. Disney. I haven't tried booking with other companies.

ETA - I just checked our trip on Getawaytoday. It's $10 cheaper to book on my own vs. using the site (same dates, same hotel and same tickets.)

Costco travel has good deals, but I usually find it to be a better deal if I book everything separately on my own. I enjoy being my own travel agent but I could see for some people it might be more convienent and less of a hassle to book a package deal.

I have always used Getaway Today. They have saved me quite a bit over Disney, Costco and doing my own. I will keep going back to them.

Most of the time its cheaper to purchase separately however sometimes its a better deal to purchase through getawaytoday. It depends on how many nights you stay, what hotel you stay at etc. Some hotels offer a 3rd or 4th night free, free breakfast, parking at the hotel and free shuttle to Disney that is not offered through booking through the hotel directly. If I book separately I use my AAA discount. I have used getawaytoday many times. Great service, I highly recommend.
