We are not able to buy directly from Disney from Australia. We can buy from the timeshare store or next time we are in Florida from Disney. My question is if we buy a resale are we then able to buy directly from Disney while in Australia? Just hoping to be able to take advantage of any deals in the future.

I have been a DVC member at Old Key West (OCW) since 1993. If you purchase through a broker it is always less. You have the exact same privliges as if you bought the time share from Disney direct. I can't answer your question about if you are a member from a second hand purchase and try to buy direct after that. Call 1-800-******** and follow the directions for a sales representative. Good luck.

Hi, I am currently buying a small contract resale from the timeshare store with the intention of then buying add ons direct from Disney. The only thing I won't be able to get is financing with Disney.

Hi, if you cant buy direct from Disney while you're in Australia, you wont be able to buy even if you're already a DVC member....like me. I'm from Montreal and I bought a resale than addon from Disney but I was in FL, I was not able to addon from home

We have bought add ons from resale and from Disney. Purchasing from Disney can only be done while in the USA. The advantage of purchasing from Disney is the total cost can be paid on credit card, we used Amex which gained a lot of FF points, 1.5 points per dollar spent and no closure or bank transfer fees. This all depends on Disney having the points available and the use year required, the cost of an add on per DVC point was discounted as we were existing owners. A resale purchase in this case was not necessarily going to be cheaper. I would feel the resale cost has dropped at present due to the economy and provided you get the sale approved by Disney would be a good purchase. If looking for DVC resale I would also suggest Jaki Apetz www.**********.com
