Purchasing DVC APs before we get to WDW

Can we pre-purchase our annual passes with the DVC discount before we get to florida?

If so does anyone know how we go about this. We normally wait and buy them when we get there but we have the money now and I don't want to be tempted to spend it.

You can do it online or ring up member services and order them by phone. If it is renewal APs you will have to ring up as the DVC ones not available online for some reason.

Thanks for this question - I wanted to know the answer too. We have just bought DVC and are going for the first time in October. We have never purchased an AP before.

I have a few more questions though -

Can I purchase it online through DVC?
If I purchase an AP now will be activated the first time I use it (ie in October)?
Will the AP be sent to me or do I have to collect it from somewhere when I arrive?

Yes, you can purchase online through DVC, I believe it is under member perks, though like Mikki says not a renewal, you will get a voucher to print off which can then be redeemed at guest services. It will be activated the first time you use it, hope this helps ...

We buy ours over the phone when we make the room booking and they send you some (plastic) vouchers to redeem once you get to WDW. Don't forget if you spread your trips out you can get two annual trips out of one annual pass. e.g we're going on 29th Sept this year, but probably won't go into the parks (and activate the pass) until 30th Sept - as long as the last day of next years trip is 30th Sept 2009 we can use the same annual pass.

We've purchased our DVC AP on-line for several years without any problems - it's very easy.

I've just ordered my annual pass online today without any problems. You can arrange to pick it up when you get there or have the plastic voucher sent in the mail which you then exchange at guest services. Either way, it's not activated until you exchange it for the actual annual pass
