Purchasing dining plan with tickets

If I order tickets through Ticketmania will I be able to get the dining plan? Or do I have to get my tickets from Disney to get the dining plan?

Also, I'm splitting our December stay (3 nights, then 6 nights) and purchasing 8 day tickets. It's my understanding that I'd have to purchase 2 sets of tickets in order to get the dining plan, for example 3 day tickets and 5 day tickets, and I can't get the whole 9 days of dining with the split stay. Is this correct? It doesn't seem very cost effective to purchase dining plan with a split stay, does it? Am I understanding this correctly?

You can only get the dining plan as part of a MYW package (room, dining and at least 1 day MYW base ticket for each person). So if you buy your tickets elsewhere, you'd still need to buy at least a 1 day ticket for each person (for each MYW+dining package purchased).

The dining plan is based on the number of room nights.

If you're doing a split stay and want the dining plan for the whole time, you could buy 7 day tickets for everyone with the first reservation/package, then get a 1 day ticket for each person for the second package - or buy any combination of tickets as long as it's 1 day each person for each segment. If you didn't want to buy two sets of tickets, you could only get the dining plan for one of the segments of your split stay.

Personally, I think it would be cheaper/easier to just stay at one resort and get 8 day tickets and the dining.
