Purchasing different use year direct

I currently am a member with Dec use year at PVB and VDH.
I'm looking to buy direct VDH with Aug use year for late summer / fall trips (Sept to Nov) without relying on my Dec use year points (and also to avoid using it after the banking deadline).

Since I am a member with Dec use year, would I still qualify for existing member incentive when purchasing direct in a new use year, even though technically it results in being a new and separate membership?

I was told by my guide that if I bought a different use year, it would be considered a new membership. I wasn't looking at a resort with incentives so I don't know about that. What I would do in your shoes is request the current incentives for the new use year. If they said no, I would just keep asking different guides until I found one that would do it for me.

You can buy it and get member pricing. However, since it will be a new membership, it’s not considered an add on.

You will be required to purchase at least 100 points since that is the current minimum for new memberships.

You might get pushback but just go in saying that you understand how to manage both and you realize the guide might need to get manager approval…but you want that UY for strategic reasons.
