Purchasing AP with gift cards?

My parents want to give us gift cards for Christmas so DH and I can buy our AP's with them next year. I don't think the cards will be for the entire amount (unless mom's being crazy generous this Christmas LOL), so is it a pain to buy the DVC discount AP with partial payments (as in using the GC and my credit card for the rest)? Can it be done online this way or will I need to call member services to do it? Thanks...it's our first AP purchase ever!

I just bought an AP online. You can only use 1 gift card online. So I bought a $500 gift card at Giant Eagle (and got $2 per gallon in fuel perks) and paid the rest with my Disney Visa. I ordered it last Saturday and it came in the mail yesterday. I was surprised that they didn't charge for mailing, I usually just do will call but when I saw $0 for mailing, I went with that.

I believe you can use 2 gift cards over the phone.

Pretty sure they're giving us 1 gift card with whatever amount on it to go towards our 2 AP's. So I can use the gift card and put the rest on my credit card online?

Yes. When I did it, the total was $516.53 with tax. I put the $500 gift card serial # in and it popped up saying the total was over that amount. Then I entered my Disney Visa #. So there's a box where you indicate how much you want to apply from the gift card, so I entered the $500 and then it filled in $16.53 from the Visa.

I originally used the link from the member website, it would not load. Then I went through the annual passholder link in MDE, it popped up the regular price with links to Florida Resident or DVC Member. I clicked DVC Member and it gave me the member prices.

put them all into a disney vacation account (which you have to open with a one time low payment from a cc.) when you order your ticket/pass give them your DVA account number- it acts as one disney gift card. Did it last week.

If you call DVC member service they will have you call ticketing to pay with gift cards. We just bought 5 annual passes with the DVC discount paying all with $50 gift cards.
