We want the children, ages 7 and 9, to order off the adult menu if they wish.
Are we allowed to buy adult Disney Dinning Plan tickets for the children so they can order off either the adult or childs menu?
Thanks for replying.:)

I don't believe you can buy adult plans for them unless you lie about their age. What I do is have our DD order something off the kids menu and then we share her meal and my meal seeing we have similar tastes. PLus I don't usually eat an app. so if there is something she likes I order it for her.

I would look up all the menus for the place you are thinking of eating and see if it makes sense to pay for adult meals for them. It's a BIG price difference.

I have 2 very big eating boys. They are 9 and almost 7. I just let them eat whatever their sister doesn't finish, since she's picky. And lots of buffets.

No, you won't be able to purchase adult DDPs for them unless you lie about their age and then that would require purchasing adult theme park tickets for them. DD ate a few things off the adult buffets....but her favorite thing seemed to be the pizza off the children's buffet (and then desert). All of our TS ADRs were at buffets though.

Take advantage of the kid prices while you can! I'm not positive, but I think you may have to buy adult tickets to get the adult DDP (I know that children under 3 can get the DDP if and only if they buy a childs ticket)

Buffets may be the best deal for you :thumbsup2

Look at the menus now, see how often they really might want to order an adult meal. It may be better to not do the DDP at all and just pay OOP.

The first time I tried the dining plan, my dd was 9 and I purchased an adult dining plan for her. Prior to that, she'd only eaten chicken fingers at disney, but she's started eating steak and other things, so we tried it. We were DVC members, staying at DVC and had annual passes, so I wasn't buying park tickets, so I didn't have to pay for adult tickets for her. I don't know if you can separate dining and tickets if you/re buying a package. If you can, it's worth it. Or if you can't, it may be worth paying the upcharge for one of your sons and letting everyone share. Back in the day when you got appetizers, 3 meals would have been plenty for 4 of you!!!
