This is out third trip to WDW this year and by far the longest. The last two trips were for two weeks each and my wife used a ECV rented from Walker. This trip is several weeks mostly for F&W. My wife doesn't use a mobility device at home but when we are at WDW she can't tolerate that much walking. She's had major surgery on her back, and while that worked, she has pain issues.
We decided to buy a WC rather than renting one and we'll use it on future trips. We can leave it at my sister's house in Lakeland. I did a lot of research and decided that a 20" Drive chair was the best deal. It only cost $150. We are very happy with the chair. It is high quality and works well for us. Luckily I can push her without trouble. It was the right choice for us.
This time of year, without major tour groups in the parks is also a good time to push a chair. People are not as crazy leaving the parks at night. The downside is the heat and humidity. It has been very, very hot so far this September/October with Feels Like temps in the low 100s almost every day,
