Purchase travel now or wait until the new year?

I am ready to bite the bullet and buy our trip to the Caribbean but I wonder if I should wait until just after New Years.


Our travel plan is to head out the first week of February. Did I miss my window for getting a good deal, or can I snag one of those last minute packages out there?


Ideas? Recommendations?
How has buying last minute worked out for you before?

Whatever you save by getting a last-minute package deal, you will end up spending in over-priced airfare. If you're comfortable with the prices that you're seeing right now, then pull the trigger and don't look back. February is a prime month for Caribbean travel because everyone is sick of snow and freezing temps by then and hurricane season is nowhere near its start.

Personally, I would have purchased airfare for a popular travel destination in February months ago. You have likely missed any bargains. Buying airfare at the last minute is always expensive.

The longer you wait the higher the price will go. Usually 21 days before your travel date is when the ticket prices are at their highest. I would get them now.

Yeah that's true we should have bought earlier. But we just decided a couple of days ago. I guess we will just have to pay the difference.
