Is there any way to purchase another DDP for my 18 month old? He is a big eater, and I would like him to have his own meals?
Anyone know if this is possible?

no, you cant. in order to use the DDP you need to have a ticket to the park. well i suppose you could get him a ticket and say hes older, but that would be a waste of money. youre better off just buying his meal OOP.

Thanks--maybe I'll get lucky and he won't be having a growth spurt that week! :)

My kids are DS4, DD3, DD1. I honestly think some days my 1 year old is the biggest eater (and she is tiny). Because of this I picked all my meals to be buffets (a lot of character meals) but one. It was going to save us a lot not to have to order her food seperately (and then we really got lucky because we made free dining). Anyway they can get a plate and eat all they want at any buffet meals.

We were able to purchase the dining plan for our baby and not pay for the additional park tickets because we were not purchasing a package...We are DVC members...We have to pay for dining and tickets individually....So, there are some people out there that can get the dining plan for kids under three...But the answer is no if you are booking a package...

Yes, you can share for free....Buffets are great with big eaters because they eat free at buffets...And then you don't have to worry about choosing an item that you know your baby will enjoy sharing with you....Most servers at a regular table-service will give the baby a child cup with a drink "for free" but you may want to think about brining a cup filled with baby's favorite drink to a TS...

Be prepared to spend some money OOP on counter service meals, snacks, and possible side items at table service restaurants....We had that issue with our 15 month old the first time we went with the kids...We did not have the plan for him and we did need to purchase extra food for him...Sharing was just not enough for his big stomach.

OP, I certainly understand. Our granddaughter, 13 months old, is an eating machine. She out eats her 3 yo sister, but is a tiny thing too. We will be buying her meals at TS locations as one kids meal will not be enough for the 2 of them to share. We don't do alot of buffets but do have 2 planned for our August trip. Since we are DVC members, if we were buying the DDP, we would've added her to it, but we no longer buy the DDP anymore after the 2008 changes. I'm eager to see what changes might occur in 2009.

You would need to register the child as a 3 year old to buy the DDP for him.

If you are purchasing DDP as part of a room/tickets package, that means you'll also have to buy a ticket for him.

If you're purchasing DDP as part of an AP no-tickets package or a DVC reservation, you won't have to purchase a ticket. However, your reservation will have to state that the child is 3.

We took 2 kids under 3 (2 kids on the plan and 2 were free) and didn't have to pay OOP for any meals for them. There was enough food to share at the CS and we planned buffets so that it wouldn't be an issue for TS.

At every TS restaurant we went to last year with our 2 year old, they brought us a plate and let my 2 year old order something. At CRT they did this, Chef Mickey's he got his own drinks and of course the buffet was free. I just looked on my receipts and it says "Under 3 Breakfast", so they do ring it up...but it's free. I don't have SciFi's receipt...so I can't remember what they did there, but it seems like they brought him something? Or maybe we split one of the other meals..not sure. Then again, most of the places we ate at were considered plated buffets I think? Like LTT and Garden Grill....so again, tons of food and he got his own drink and plate.

The only thing we had issues with were the CS's, but since we have a few small eaters among our 5 kids...we just split up all the food and everyone was stuffed and happy LOL

Disney allows a child under 3 to eat off the parent's plate. I would take that option and save the money. :)
