My daughter loves pulled pork so I'm looking to cook that in a crock pot tomorrow for dinner. I read on a thread somewhere for a recipe that involved adding rootbeer. Of course, I can't find the thread when I need it.

Does anyone happen to remember what that recipe was?

I've made that recipe twice now for my DH & I and it is so good - the root beer flavor is so subtle but keeps the meat so moist.

My recipe didn't recommend this but the second time we made it we flipped the pork about 1/2 way through the cooking (and cook ours for 7 hours on low). The first time we didn't flip it and while it was good the one side was definitley more juicy than the other.

Hope you enjoy!!

I know you asked for one that has root beer, but I have one that is really delicious so I thought I would share it too... We had it yesterday for the Super Bowl, and it was a big hit!

Brown Sugar and Balsamic Glazed Pork Loin

Ingredients:

1 (2 pound) boneless pork tenderloin (or regular pork loin)
1 teaspoon ground sage
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/2 cup water

Glaze
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons soy sauce

Directions:
Combine sage, salt, pepper and garlic. Rub over roast. Place in slow cooker with 1/2 cup water. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. About 1 hour before roast is done, combine ingredients for glaze in small sauce pan. Heat and stir until mixture thickens. Brush roast with glaze 2 or 3 times during the last hour of cooking. Serve with remaining glaze on the side.

Ree Drummond has an awesome recipe, and we made it yesterday!
A pork butt, one white or yellow onion, 1 can of chipotles in adobo, and 2 cans of dr pepper. Delicious! It has a bit of a kick, but it can be either put in burritos or bbq.

I just pour a bunch of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce over, then shred -- it's always a hit.

Thanks everyone. I'll have to try each one & see what is her favorite. We normally just do the sweet baby rays sauce but I liked the sound of adding the root beer for something different.

Thanks again!!!

I was just discussing this with DH. We've got some friends coming over Saturday and I wanted to make some BBQ. My question is what cut of pork should you use? I'm looking for Memphis-style pulled pork, if that makes a difference. (I lived in Memphis for almost half my life, you'd think I should know this! But I forget every time. :rolleyes1 )

I'm not sure what Memphis style is but I just use pork tenderloin, the ones in the individual shrink wrapped bags.

found a few recipes on line:
