We are new members and I am wondering are the pull out couches comfortable, or are they like most pull outs? I am stressing about my kids not having a real bed. Our next rip will be at BLT and the boardwalk. Has any adult slept on these and have any comments?

I have not slept on the BLT couches but the sofabeds at BWV are comfortable. They are not like the old-fashioned sofabeds. Here is a link to show how they work (wait a minute for the short video to load on the right side):

I sleep on the BWV sofabed frequently to escape DH's snoring! My only complaint is that it is rather clumsy getting out of the sofabeds because the attached cushion sticks out a little ways. (Kids probably won't think it is clumsy at all.)

I slept on the sofabed at BLT in a studio, and I'm probably old enough to be your kids' grandmother. ;) It's a memory foam mattress that's "attached" to a "board" so to speak. It was VERY comfy for me. Then again, I have a memory foam bed at home so I'm used to it.

There is NO bar in the middle of the bed. :goodvibes

I always get complaints when one has to sleep on the pull out couch. One night, I slep on it, it was not all that bad- for one night

DD had the pull out at OKW and found it uncomfortable. Called mousekeeping for an egg crate and then it was fine.

We just got back from a stay in a one bedroom at WLV that had one of the new pulls outs previously described. Our party of four took turns in it (I and daughter did three nights, husband and our son did the other three). No one complained at all about being uncomfortable in the fold out (as they continually did in the past with the old ones), so these definitely made my "acid test."

Often the Mother stresses and the kids could care less.

If you don't mention it or make a big deal out of it, they probably won't either.

Just stayed in Studio at BLT May 22-29. Both my DD's slept on pull out bed and loved it! I did lay on it to watch tv and found it to be very comfortableas well.

You mention 'kids', are you aware that there is also a sleeper chair at BLT so if you're talking about two children, they can each have their own bed. My SIL had no complaints about the sofa bed and my teenage niece thought the sleeper chair was fine.

NikP,
Your kids will be a Disney world, I'm sure they will be comfortable and happy on a pull out sofa. Enjoy your trip and Welcome Home!:cool1::banana:

Just check the pullout first thing when you get in your room. We have found them to be comfortable but had a situation a few years ago with one that was broken and had a horrible time getting it fixed. Make sure and adult actually tests it out as we fell through ours when we laid on it.

Excellent advice. We had a broken one also one time. And be sure to check for bedding. Usually the sheets, blanket and pillows are already in the sofabed at BWV but we have had them in the closet at some resorts. And on occasion they have been missing, not a fun thing to discover if it is late at night. I have also heard of instances where mousekeeping has failed to remove used bedding that was closed inside a sofabed, though we have not had that happen. If we use the sofabed I always strip it on checkout day and leave the bedding on the sofa so mousekeeping doesn't forget about replacing it.

I don't think the pullout was broken, but we had a very hard time figuring out HOW to pull it out. This was a Kidani 1 bedroom, and we had to call for help. So, yes, try it before you need it! DF had NO complaints at all.

Am I the only meany that told my DS 13 - if you don't like it - you can stay home from now on??? Somehow he thought DH and I should take turns sleeping on the sofa. :rotfl2:

Had a value studio at Jambo House last month and my 2 friends used the sofabed. I planned on using it but they didn't like how high the bed was so I got to sleep in it :-)

It was of a different design than the one in the link above. We had to remove all the seat and back cushions first before pulling the bed out from under the seat. At first it got a bit crowded in the room as we tried to figure out where to put the cushions. In the end we had the seat cushions in the entrance and the back cushions on the armoire.

My friends said the sofabed was very comfortable and that they slept well in it.

Their only complaint was that the wool blanket was not enough to keep them warm, but I gave them the comforter from the bed and then they were fine. There would have been an additional wool blanket in the armoire though.

My two kids (12 and 8 at the time) said the pull-out couch in SSR was comfortable last year. I'd make sure it is one of the first things you try upon getting in the room, though. I'm sure they'll be fine.

I get your concern though....it was one for me at the time.

My 2 boys and sometimes DH didn't mind lol; he slept w 1 son a couple nites and the other w me. I'd have to say that the ones @ AKL looked more comfy than the 1 @ the BCV. JMHO

our last trip to disney we stopped on the way down at a holiday inn express and using my accrued points for a suite in Savannah on the drive down. DD14 and DD6 slept on the foldout while DW and I slept in the King Bed.. never heard so much complaining about a bed in my life. LOL From the pictures I have seen on here and hearing everyone, they won't mind sleeping on the pullout here at SSR when we stay in Dec. anything has to be better than that junkie sofabed at teh holiday inn express!!
